It was trailed by St. Gonzaga Gonza Isoge Secondary School with a 10.3 B+ mean. Clinching the top 100 schools list in KCSE 2023 results is Sengera Manga High School with a C (6.3736) mean score.

The school posted an impressive mean score of 359.20 marks. Eronge Adventist appeared in the KCPE 2022 Top 20 schools regionally. It was followed by Our Lady of Mercy Ibara Girls Boarding Primary.

The top candidate from the school, Mwasi Kwamboka Mellen, who scored 415 marks was also the best in the County.

Girls Vs Boys Performance

In the 2022 KCPE, female candidates performed better than their male counterparts in three languages among them English, Kiswahili, and Sign language.

Male candidates performed better than female candidates in Maths, Science, Social Studies, and Religious Education.

Four counties recorded more male than female candidates this year. They are Turkana, Garissa, Wajir and Mandera.

Key Statistics and Figures in KCPE 2022:

1. KCPE 2022: 62 310 adults sat the KCPE exam which represents 5.08% of the total candidature population.

2. KCPE 2021: the number of adults who sat the exam was 29 607, representing 2.42% of the total population that sat the exam.

The number of adults who sat the KCPE exams this year increased according to statistics from the Ministry of Education.

The statistics show that 62,310 adults sat the exams which represents 5.08 percent of the total candidates’ population.

Last year, the adults who sat the exams were 29,607, representing 2.42 percent.

The statistics also show that all counties registered an increase in adult candidates from last year.

The results were released on Wednesday, December 16, 2022, by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu at Mitihani House in Nairobi.

The statistics also showed that the number of candidates who were 12 years and below declined.

Machogu said that the number dropped from 33,627 (2.74%) in 2021 to 31,498 (2.53%) in 2022.

The CS said that the decline shows that children are enrolled in school at the right age.

KNEC WANTS PRINCIPALS PRESENTING GROUP IV CANDIDATES TO UPLOAD PICTORIAL EVIDENCE OF CANDIDATES’ PROJECTS BY MID-JULY; LATEST CIRCULAR, NEW DEADLINE

In Summary

In the latest Circular dated June 22, 2020, the Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC now wants heads who registered KCSE candidates for Group IV subjects to present photographic evidence of the candidates’ projects (in gif or jpeg format) for the sake of recording and be done with the projects by July 15, 2020.

KCSE 2020 GROUP IV SUBJECTS

The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC has issued fresh guidelines that will govern the handling of KCSE 2020 Group IV subjects, project-based subjects.

The new circular is a clarification of an earlier one in which principals were directed to wait upon the Council to give further guidelines on the handling of Milestone 1and 2 for Group IV subjects once schools reopen.

According to the new circular, all heads are expected to upload pictorial evidence together with candidates’ scores onto the KNEC portal when the new guidelines are issued,

“Take photographic evidence of the candidates’ projects (in .gif or .jpeg formats) for KCSE 2020 candidates taking Agriculture and dispose of the project by July 15, 2020,” reads the circular in part.

NEW GUIDELINES

KNEC Boss Dr. Mercy Karogo has also promised to issue new guidelines for other Group IV subjects soon since schools are likely to reopen in September and Candidates are likely to be given priority.

HOW TO UPLOAD GROUP IV CANDIDATES’ SCORES AND PICTORIAL EVIDENCE ONTO THE KNEC PORTAL

Note: teachers must collect the required data-candidates’ scores and photographic evidence before commencing the process

To upload candidates’ scores, follow the following simplified steps

Click on the following link to access the official KNEC portal: https://knec-portal.ac.ke
Once you are logged onto the home page, click on the tab labeled “PROJECTS”
Enter the school’s Username and Password used during the KCSE registration process to log onto the system
Click on the subject whose scores you would like to upload to select it then click on “Get File.” This will redirect you to another page containing a list of all KCSE candidates registered for the given subject.
Fill in the scores of each candidate alongside their correct names in the column marked “MARKS” then click on “POST” once you are done.
The next step is to provide pictorial evidence for the project which is a photo (in .jpeg or .gif format). The photo must be stored on either your computer or phone before you start uploading it.
To upload the pictorial evidence, Click on “CHOOSE FILE.” Pick the photo you would like to upload from your local storage by clicking on it. The photo will be automatically uploaded to the KNEC portal.
Complete the process by clicking on “SAVE AND PREVIEW”
Generate an online print out of the candidates by clicking on the tab labeled “REPORT.”

Note:

If a candidate’s credentials are not captured in the official KNEC portal, then his or her name will not appear on the online generated print-out.

In this case, the candidate should be listed manually on the print out using a red pen.

Upon admission, students are expected to pay school fees as per the stipulated timeline. The fees should be deposited in the school’s account number provided in the student’s admission letter.

When depositing fees, the student should indicate the name, form, and admission number correctly to avoid confusion.

Other charges include school ID-Kshs 200.

Note:

The above fee is exclusive of school uniforms and other personal effects.

The commission shall be levied on crossed money orders or upcountry cheques.

Sponsored students should produce a letter of commitment from their sponsors.

Personal cheques shall not be accepted.

Payment in cash will not be accepted.

The fee structure for the whole year is usually attached to the student’s admission letter.

Students can buy school uniforms during the official reporting date in school or from any other uniform centers and outlets that stock them.

Medical care

The school provides basic medical care for all students. Serious cases are referred to as the nearest Level 4 or five hospital or other medical facilities recommended by the school for NHIF services.

Code of conduct

Every student is expected to strictly adhere to the set school rules and regulations. A copy of the school rules shall be provided during admission.

Besides, students are expected to uphold the following values: hard work, discipline, courtesy, diligence, perseverance, determination, and foresight at all times.

The school offers a broad 8-4-4 curriculum to accommodate the wide range of learners’ needs.

The subjects offered include Maths, English, Kiswahili, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, CRE, Agriculture, Business Studies, Physical Education among others

Diet

The school diet majorly comprises Ugali, maize, beans, sukuma wiki, cabbages, Githeri, Meat, Eggs, Rice, Tea, Bread, and fruits.

KNEC releases marking invitation letters for 2021 KCSE examiners; check if you have been barred from reporting to the KCSE marking centres and the new terms and conditions

KCSE Examiners Invitation letters 2021– The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) has posted official Knec marking invitation letters to contracted examiners whose professional skills will be indispensable in assessing the performance of the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates.

Knec issues tough conditions for KCSE 2021 examiners

The Council at the same time issued tough marking conditions for examiners who shall be willing to participate in the upcoming exercise.

Seasoned knec examiners can now download their marking invitation letters from the Knec portal; https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke/.

Knec deadline for downloading the 2021 KCSE marking Invitation Letters

The council has given the examiners a grace period of approximately two weeks that is up to 8th of April to either accept or reject the offer.

The examiners are expected to first of all peruse through the new Marking instructions before accepting the offer.

“If you accept the conditions given in the Instructions for this year’s marking, click the accept offer button below (highlighted in green) latest by 8 April,2021. If you do not accept, click them reject offer button (highlighted in red) and give the reason.” Says Knec Chief Executive Officer, Dr Mercy. G. Karogo.

Covid-19 prevention measures to be observed during the 2021 KCSE marking exercise

Due to the current Covid 19 pandemic, KNEC has advised the examiners to be wary of the killer disease and observe the Ministry of Health Guidelines to the latter.

They will be expected to carry enough face masks, maintain social distance in all areas throughout the marking period and also wash their hands with soap and/or use sanitizers at all times.

KCSE 2021 BARRED EXAMINERS

The Council has at the same time barred examiners who are at a high risk of contracting the Corona Virus from reporting to this year’s marking exercise. Expectant mothers and those

who are currently breastfeeding will not be allowed to report to the marking centres this year.

“Examiners who are breastfeeding are advised not to report for marking since KNEC does not make any arrangement for babies and their helpers. In addition, marking is strictly residential and therefore such examiners will not be allowed to commute from outside. Examiners are encouraged to defer marking until when their babies are old enough to be left behind at home…. Expectant examiners are equally advised to defer marking for their own safety due to heavy tasks involved until such a time when they can report after delivery and breastfeeding.” Directs Dr. Karogo.

But, examiners aged 58 years and above have the option of either forfeiting the exercise or reporting.

“Those (examiners) who are 58 years and above and/or with underlying conditions are advised to take extra precautions during the marking period. Should you feel unsafe, you are free to decline the offer of marking.” She adds.

In the 2019 marking exercise examiners downed tools citing poor marking conditions and low pay. It took the intervention of the Council for the marking to proceed.

This year’s KCSE 2020 exam marking dates will be from 19.04.2021 to 07.05.2021.

The KCSE exams will run from Friday March 26, 2021 to Wednesday April 21, 2021.

A total of 1,088,986 will sit for the KCPE tests while the KCSE exams will be taken by 699,745 candidates.

The CS Education has confirmed that the process of releasing the 2021-2022 KCPE results is on since 2022 KCPE examiners are winding up the marking process this week.

Anticipating the release of the 2022 KCPE results are KCPE candidates who sat for the 2021 examinations this March.

KCPE Results Performance Analysis Report 2022

The CS Education Professor George Magoha is expected to formally release the results next week starting Monday. Some of the key Statistics that are likely to be enumerated encompass KCPE Top 15 candidates and their schools, KCPE Performance Analysis per County and the Top 10 KCPE Special Needs Education, SNE Candidates.

2020 KCPE performance was commendable. Releasing the examination results on 15th/April/2021, Cabinet Secretary for Education Prof.Magoha congratulated the class of 2020 KCPE for their commendable performance besides the prevailing circumstances of COVID-19.

2020 KCPE Statistics (Summary)

49.3% (588,742) of girls sat for the exam, 50.7%(590,742) were boys.

The total number of pupils that sat the 2020 KCPE examination was 1,179,232. There was an increase of 95,000 pupils who sat 2020 KCPE examination compared to the 2019 KCPE.

20 Counties registered more female candidates than male candidates.

28,460 examination centers were used.

There was an improvement in general results of 2020 KCPE compared to 2019 KCPE results though the first candidate dropped slightly compared to 2019.

In this year’s results, more candidates scored better compared to 2019.

It is important to note that 10 out of 15 best candidates are from Public Schools.

Girls Vs Boys Performance

In the 2022 KCPE, female candidates performed better than their male counterparts in three languages among them English, Kiswahili, and Sign language.

Male candidates performed better than female candidates in Maths, Science, Social Studies, and Religious Education.

Four counties recorded more male than female candidates this year. They are Turkana, Garissa, Wajir and Mandera.

Key Statistics and Figures in KCPE 2022:

1. KCPE 2022: 62 310 adults sat the KCPE exam which represents 5.08% of the total candidature population.

2. KCPE 2021: the number of adults who sat the exam were 29 607, representing 2.42% of the total population that sat the exam.

The number of adults who sat the KCPE exams this year increased according to statistics from the Ministry of Education.

The statistics show that 62,310 adults sat the exams which represent 5.08 per cent of the total candidates’ population.

Last year, the adults who sat the exams were 29,607, representing 2.42 per cent.

The statistics also show that all counties registered an increase in adult candidates from last year.

The results were released on Wednesday December 16, 2022 by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu at Mitihani House in Nairobi.

The statistics also showed that the number of candidates who were 12 years and below declined.

Machogu said that the number dropped from 33,627 (2.74%) in 2021 to 31,498 (2.53%) in 2022.

The CS said that the decline shows that children are enrolled in school at the right age.

THE KENYA NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL

RECRUITMENT OF KCSE ASSESSORS FOR ORAL AND PRACTICAL PAPERS

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) wishes to recruit Secondary School teachers/College tutors as assessors for KCSE oral and practical papers between 10th June and 30th July 2025. The selected professionals will be trained on the job during assessment of the 2025 KCSE examination papers.

Teachers/Tutors who are already in the KNEC database of assessors need not apply. Applications are invited from all interested and qualified teachers/tutors as follows:

2.0 REQUIREMENTS FOR KNEC ASSESSORS

2.1 To qualify for recruitment, an applicant must:
2.1.1 Be a practicing teacher/tutor in the relevant subjects.
2.1.2 Be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or a recognised professional body.
2.1.3 Have a Diploma (and above) in Education or in the relevant area of specialization.
2.1.4 For Aviation Technology, the applicant must have a Diploma in Eeronautical Engineering.

2.1.5 Have a minimum teaching experience of three (3) years.
2.1.6 NOT be on interdiction or any other form of disciplinary action from the employer.
2.1.7 Be recommended by his/her head of institution or employer.
2.1.8 Be 50 years of age and below.

3.0 APPLICATION PROCEDURE

3.1 Applicants are required to do the following:
3.1.1 Access the KNEC examiners’ portal using the link https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke;
3.1.2 Those with CP2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords.
3.1.3 Those who have forgotten their CP2 passwords should click the Reset Password button and enter their mobile number in the format (2547********) and submit to get new passwords for logging into the portal.
3.1.4 Those without CP2 accounts should click the Create Account button and follow the instructions to acquire login credentials.
3.1.5 Upon successful log in, applicants should complete their personal profile and save. On the dashboard, click on apply for assessors’ vacancies and all the declared vacancies will be available for the applicants to choose.

The slots are limited and only qualified applicants who have presented all the required documents will be shortlisted for the exercise.
