Nanyuki High School 2022 Form One Selection; Admission Letters and List

Admissions: form one selection, application, enrolment rate, criteria, and requirements, admission letters, and placement list

The school admits at least 300 students per year.  This cohort is usually selected by the Ministry of Education to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all students in Kenya. The selection of students to the school is evenly distributed across all the 47 counties in Kenya.

The main selection criterion when it comes to Form one selection and placement is the students’ previous performance in KCPE results.

Interested applicants should however tender their interest when selecting their preferred secondary schools at the primary level long before the KCPE results get released.

Worth noting is the fact that picking the school as your first choice is not a direct ticket to the institution. Any student who wishes to join the school must attain the pass mark set by the Ministry of Education.

Form one admission: form one selection: criteria, list, and letters (Calling/placement Letters)

Unlike in the past when some parents and school heads could influence the form one selection list, this year’s selection is done by the MOE and it is purely based on the student’s KCPE marks.

Click HERE to access form one school selection system for national schools.

Have you been selected to join this school? Congratulations on making it this far. For a full list of all students who have been selected to join the institution at form one level, you can visit the school’s portal online or the institution.

To access your form one school placement letter, click HERE.

KCPE 2020/2021 national exams marrred by labour pains

KCPE 2020/2021 national exams marrred by labour pains

KCPE 2020/2021 national exams mirred by labour pains

This year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, national examinations commenced with a fair share of drama after “Corona” babies decided to make their exit as their mothers were writing their final papers.

The situation saw a good number of dispensaries and hospitals converted into Knec examination centres for the KCPE candidates.

Details hitting our newsdesk indicate that at least 21 girls who sat their first papers yesterday gave birth before the exam period while others went into labour during the exams.

2020/2021 KCPE candidature

1.2 million candidates are currently taking the tests, which were put off last year following the Covid-19 outbreak.

Number of KCPE pregnant candidates per county

Migori County recorded 208 teen  pregnancies during the KCPE 2020 national exams.

According to the Director of Education Ms Elizabeth Otieno , out of the 29,787 candidates who wrote their exams, 108 were pregnant girls.

This number encompasses school girls waiting to sit their final Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams starting next week.

In Homa Bay County, three KCPE candidates were rushed to local health facilities to deliver their babies.

Education officials have reiterated  that a pregnancy or delivery will not deter any girl from sitting the examination.

In Kisumu East, a 17-year-old pupil at Oyola Primary School delivered a baby moments before she sat her Mathematics paper.

The girl was allowed to write the exam at the health facility in Chiga, where she had been admitted since Sunday evening.

In Kericho County, a 17-year-old new mother was among 54,700 candidates who wrote their KCPE exams yesterday.

The girl sat her Mathematics and English papers at the maternity ward in Kericho County Hospital as her twins were being managed at the new-born unit next door.

In Mwingi North, Kitui County, five female candidates wrote their exams at different health facilities where they were admitted with labour pains.

According to a police report, one of the girls, a candidate at Wikithuki Primary Schoo, delivered at Mumoni Nursing Home where she had been admitted to in the morning. Although weak, she was able to go on with her exams.

Two other candidates were admitted to Tseikuru sub-county Hospital – one from Mwangea Primary School and another from Kyamalutu Primary School.

In Kyuso sub-county, two candidates were admitted to Kyuso sub-county hospital awaiting to deliver. They were able to write their exams from the labour wards under the close watch of medical officers.

In Trans Nzoia County, two girls were rushed to the Kitale County Hospital with labour complications.

One of the girls, a pupil at Suam Primary School, had a pre-mature delivery last month and is admitted to the facility after she developed complications.

The other girl is from a school in Tongaren Constituency in Bungoma County and is expected to deliver any time.

Three girls at Toll Station Primary School gave birth recently.

Centre Manager Carolyne Ngaira said the candidates were counselled before sitting the exams.

“We have three girls who delivered days ago and are in high spirits after we counselled them before taking their exams. We hope they are going to post good results,” Mrs Ngaira told The Standard.

Two other candidates delivered minutes before the start of the examinations in the North Rift.

One of the candidates gave birth to a baby girl in Nandi County about two hours to the tests, while the second delivered at 7.30am in Uasin Gishu County. They went on to sit the examinations.

Country Education Director Zachary Mutuiri said Nandi County is one of the regions that recorded the highest number of teen pregnancies during the long Covid-19 break.

Noting that out of 3,500 primary girls who were found impregnated, over 200 are sitting their KCPE.

In the neighbouring Uasin Gishu, a candidate at Asururiet Primary School also gave birth to a girl at 7.30am.

County Director of Education Gitonga Mbaka said the girl was in good condition and she sat yesterday’s papers without any difficulty.

Admissions: form one selection, application, enrolment rate, criteria, and requirements

The school admits at least 150 students per year.

Interested applicants should however tender their interest when selecting their preferred secondary schools at primary level long before the KCPE results get released.

Click HERE to access form one school selection system for extra county schools.

Have you been selected to join this school? Congratulations on making it this far. For a full list of all students who have been selected to join the institution at form one level, you can visit the school’s portal online or the institution.

Knec Invitation for 2022 Training of KCPE and KCSE Examiners

The Kenya National Examinations Council, Knec recently invited interested and qualified teachers to apply for an upcoming training for examiners in the following papers:

2022/2023 KCPE Examiners Training

Knec will train examiners in English Composition and Kiswahili Insha only.

This is simply because the remaining multiple answer KCPE papers are electronically marked using Optical Marker Reader machines.

2022/2023 KCSE Examiners Training

Unlike in the previous KCSE Knec Examiners’ training, this year Knec reduced the list of papers with inadequate examiners.

According to the 2022 August Knec Invitation for the training of KCSE examiners, the council will only train examiners in the following papers: Check the advert below;

Knec advert for training of examiners

Training Fee for 2022/2023 Knec Examiners

In spite of the rising cost of living, the Kenya National Examinations Council has not hiked the training fee for the August/September 2022 Knec examiners.

Both KCSE and KCPE Examiners will part with a standard fee amounting to Kshs 10,500 to facilitate the training.

Kindly note that this facilitation fee is non-refundable and it does not cater for fare/transport.

At the end of the training, teachers who would have surpassed the pass mark will get a certificate certifying them as trained examiners who are fit to mark any upcoming KCSE and KCPE national examinations.

Kindly note that training as a Knec examiner does not guarantee one a direct ticket to marking the examinations. Later this year, in December 2022, Knec will again invite trained examiners to apply for and fill approximately 42,000 slots for examiners that will be filled in a competitive basis.

Trained examiners will have to apply online via the official KNEC portal to be deployed as Knec examiners. Follow the procedure below to apply as a Knec examiner upon completion of training.

Reporting Dates for 2022/2023 KNEC KCPE/KCSE Examiners marking the 2022 KCPE/ KCSE

Any teacher applying for the 2022/2023 KNEC Examiners Vacancies for KCPE/ KCSE marking must

  1. Be a Kenyan Citizen
  2. Possess a valid national identification card.
  3. Be TSC Registered
  4. Not be on TSC interdiction for any indiscipline cases
  5. Possess a valid KNEC registration Certificate for all examiners who have completed the KNEC training modules for all examiners.

Kindly note that only invited examiners only will be allowed to access the marking centers on the reporting dates indicated on the invitation letters.

Examiners who will not be able to access the examiners’ portal and download their invitation letters are therefore advised to keep off the marking venues since trying to access the marking centers is an errand of futility.

KNEC invites and selects examiners based on their performance during KNEC training. The top performers are given opportunities first since they are likely to deliver more credible results.

REPORTING DATES AND TIMING FOR 2022/2023 KNEC EXAMINERS

Given the throat-cutting competition for the limited Knec examiners’ vacancies, invited KCPE/ KCSE examiners are therefore advised to strictly adhere to the timelines indicated on the KNEC Examiners’ invitation letters 2022-2023.

The official reporting time is 2:00 P.M. for all KNEC examiners. Kindly note that the reporting dates differ from one KCSE script to the other since the papers have got different demands.

More demanding KCSE papers like English paper 3 Eng 101/3 require more time while marking since examiners have to peruse through at least three compositions per candidate. These examiners therefore will report to their designated marking centers a few days after the candidates sit for their last KCSE examination paper in early April.

Examiners who fail to turn up on the official reporting date and time indicated in the invitation letter will be disqualified.

PAYMENT RATES, DATES, AND TIME FOR 2022/2023 KNEC EXAMINERS

The 2022-2023 KNEC Payment rates per day remain constant this year. Therefore 2022 KCPE and KCSE examiners will receive Kshs 150 per day for co-ordination of the marking schemes for the first few days.

The KNEC payment rates per script range from Kshs 51 to Kshs 77 depending on the length and demands of the paper. English paper three examiners are the highest-paid Knec examiners in the latest KNEC examiners’ payment rates per paper 2020-2021.

The 2022-2023 KNEC Examiners payment rates may be revised subject to the availability of funds at the council.
