Admission Policy; 100% transition

Form Admission; Dictated by the Ministry of Education guidelines including KCPE merit, Affirmative Action, and Regional Balance

Murang’a Boys High School 2022 Form One Selection; Admission Letters and List

Admissions: form one selection, application, enrolment rate, criteria, and requirements, admission letters, and placement list

The school admits at least 300 students per year.  This cohort is usually selected by the Ministry of Education to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all students in Kenya. The selection of students to the school is evenly distributed across all the 47 counties in Kenya.

The main selection criterion when it comes to Form one selection and placement is the students’ previous performance in KCPE results.

Interested applicants should however tender their interest when selecting their preferred secondary schools at the primary level long before the KCPE results get released.

Worth noting is the fact that picking the school as your first choice is not a direct ticket to the institution. Any student who wishes to join the school must attain the pass mark set by the Ministry of Education.

Form one admission: form one selection: criteria, list, and letters (Calling/placement Letters)

Unlike in the past when some parents and school heads could influence the form one selection list, this year’s selection is done by the MOE and it is purely based on the student’s KCPE marks.

Click HERE to access form one school selection system for national schools.

Have you been selected to join this school? Congratulations on making it this far. For a full list of all students who have been selected to join the institution at form one level, you can visit the school’s portal online or the institution.

2022/2023 KCSE Examiners Reporting Dates, Time and Venues (New/Changed). KCSE Results 2022 to be  Released Starting April 22

The 2022 KCSE Knec examiners both seasoned and newly trained have today on Monday April 4, 2022 reported to their marking centres in preparation for a two-week long KCSE Marking exercise set to commence on Tuesday April 5, 2022.

Unlike the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) national examination which is marked by automated optical marker recognition, OMR machines save for Kiswahili Insha and English Composition, all KCSE scripts are marked manually by KNEC trained personel mainly high school teachers who are currently serving on TSC permanent and pensionable terms, TSC Internship contractual terms or on schools’ Boards of Management, BOM.

KNEC RELEASES INVITATION LETTERS TO 2022 KCSE EXAMINERS

The examiners have already received a formal online invitation by the council and those interested in marking this year’s KCSE have already downloaded their KNEC invitation letters in preparation for the exercise.

The 2022 KNEC invitation marking letters are not ordinary letters. They are special pass ports for the teachers to the KNEC marking centres since the marking exercise is a matter of social security.

Any unauthorized party is therefore not welcome to join the examiners. Any attempt aimed at accessing the following knec marking centres (2022) will attract hefty penalties including being sentenced in a court of law.

April 2022 KCSE Examiners Requirements List Reporting Date, Time and Marking Centers per Paper

The 2022 KCSE Examiners are expected to report to their respective KNEC marking centres 2022 starting April 4, 2022.

Kindly note that the marking venues for all 2021/2022 KCSE examnation papers have been changed to ensure security of the examination now that all KCSE scripts have to  be marked manually.

Besides, the reporting dates for 2022 KCSE examiners are different depewnding on the KCPE paper being marked.

English Paper three markers are expected to turn up at either Thogoto TTC or Alliance Boys at exactly 2:00 P.M. on Monday since the paper needs more time when it comes to harmonization of the marking scheme, coordintion, belt marking and cross checking.

KCSE MARKING OF 2019 KCSE EXAMS KICKS OFF: 2019 KCSE MARKING CENTRES, RELEASE DATES OF RESULTS AND KNEC RULES FOR EXAMINERS

2019 KCSE MARKING, RELEASE OF RESULTS AND KNEC’ S TOUGH MARKING RULES FOR EXAMINERS

The marking of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education national exams has kicked off today at various marking centres across the nation.

KNEC contracted professionals who received invitations to mark this year’s KCSE English Paper three  (101/3) have already reported at Alliance Girls High School in Nairobi for the exercise.

Their counter-parts who will be marking the KCSE English paper 2 (101/2) have also reported at Alliance Boys High school in readiness for the tough exercise ahead.

PLENARY SESSION

Having reported and registered today, contracted KNEC professionals held a plenary session whereby they were briefed on what is expected of them during this year’s KCSE 2019 marking exercise.

They have also coordinated the marking scheme in preparation for live marking.

CHEATING

As the marking of this year’s KCSE exams kicks off, the fate of 21 KCSE candidates is still unknown following their involvement in exam irregularities.

Speaking at Kenya High school, Professor George Magoha, the Cabinet Secretary for education, confirmed that 21 cases of cheating have already been reported and 90 phones confiscated during the administration of the 2019 KCSE exams.

Besides, 300 schools had been put under constant watch following allegations of plans to cheat.

This year’s orchestrated cheating hot spots include Kisii, Homa Bay, Garissa, Wajir, Migori and Nairobi Counties.

2019 KCSE RELEASE DATES

CS Magoha also said that the 2019 KCSE results will be released long before Christmas, a declaration that has sent jitters in officials who are strongly opposing the idea of “rushing” the marking and the release of national exams.

KNEC’S LATEST TOUGH MARKING RULES FOR KCSE EXAMINERS 2019
The Kenya National Examinations Council has invited over 26, 000 examiners for the 2019 KCSE marking exercise.

The examiners include those who were recently trained and those with long term experience.

The examiners should download their leaders from the KNEC CP2 website to confirm their marking centres, payment rates and other logistics.
