TSC Advertisement for recruitment of 1,000 teachers in 2022; See Available TSC Recruitment Vacancies in the Following Selected Counties
The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, is seeking to recruit a total of 1,000 vacancies in Wajir, Mandera, and Garissa Counties. See the full details below
In the counties of Garissa, Wajir, and Mandera, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the opening of 1000 teaching positions.
The commission is looking to hire 80 high school instructors and 764 elementary school teachers, according to the advertisement seen by our media team.
The positions are long-term and pensionable.
To fill openings in the counties of Garissa, Wajir, and Mandera, TSC simultaneously re advertised 386 teaching positions (114 for elementary schools and 272 for secondary schools) on a contractual basis.
“To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should be a Kenyan citizen, be hailing from Garissa, Mandera or Wajir Counties, be teaching under Board of Management in Garissa, Mandera or Wajir Counties,” read part of the notice
The commission requires all interested candidates who are not natives of the three counties to be registered teachers, P1 certificate holders for primary schools, and holders of a minimum of a Diploma in Education for secondary schools.
“Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Teachers Service Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than 7th July, 2022,” TSC added.
The government has been giving financial resources, according to TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, so that we may hire 5,000 new teachers for our public schools on average each year.
However, there are still 114,581 instructors needed in primary and post-primary institutions.
The TSC director ascribed the shortage in part to the government’s 100% transition program, which aims to guarantee that every pupil who completes primary school is enrolled in secondary school to the fullest extent possible.
Breaking: TSC likely to advertise more vacancies-teaching positions to replace approximately 7, 000 teachers who exited service by December 31, 2020
The Teacher Service Commission is in the process of advertising new posts to replace a high number of teachers who have exited the profession.
About 7908 teachers exited by 31st December 2020 when they attained the mandatory retirement age set at 60 years.
Initially, projections were made that around 12000 teachers could exit the profession by the end of last year.
To address the huge void that will be left behind ,the commission responded by advertising posts on internship basis and interviews were conducted last week.
The commission is also in the process of filing the gap that was created when most of the teachers aged 58 and above were advised to work from home.
Some of them were holding administrative posts.
This forced the commission to advertise about 15000 vacancies for senior teachers, deputies and heads with the deadline having been set on 15 January 2021.
The teachers’ employer will be forced to move with speed to replace these teachers that have retired.
Withthe school already set for reopening on Monday, teachers will have a hard time to cope up with the increased workload already. Therefore, any extra hand will be highly appreciated.
