POYA REQUIREMENTS

One must:

Be a TSC-employed principal, paid member of KESSHA
Have served as a principal for at least three years
Have submitted books of accounts for the year 2018
Attain a mean score of 5.0 (C-) and above in the 2018 KCSE results
Principals with special needs are encouraged to take part in the

The Teachers Service Commission has established new grades for primary school teachers.
These Grades are divided into two categories:
a. Entry Grades and
b. Promotional grades
Entry Grades are automatic- a teacher is placed automatically upon successful recruitment and employment.
Promotional Grades, on the other hand, are attained after the teacher meets given requirements.
These grades are contained in the TSC Career Progression Guidelines for teachers, 2018.
According to the guidelines, there are eight grades for primary school teachers. They include:
