TSC boss Dr. Nancy Macharia has released a full list of counties with the highest number of teacher shortages.

According to Dr. Macharia’s report presented before the Parliamentary Education Committee on May 15, 2020, Turkana County has got the highest primary school teachers’ deficit. According to the TSC report, the county requires 1, 762 TSC teachers to effectively implement its 100 percent transition policy. This translates to 51.4 percent.

In the second position comes Mandera County with a teacher shortage of 48.6 percent. The education sector needs a total of 48, 173 TSC teachers to bridge the gap.

Bomet and Bungoma Counties on the other hand have got the highest number of BOM teachers these are 2, 130, and 2, 028 respectively.
