Chogoria Girls Brief History

Chogoria Girls High was established during the pre-colonial era in the year 1922 by Dr Clive Irvine, a Missionary from the Presbyterian Church of Scotland.

He also founded a church and a hospital.

The school began as a preparatory grade mixed school but the boys were separated from the girls thus giving birth to the giant Chogoria Girls High.

The school’s vision is: To be an epitome of a holistic learning centre.

The school offers an 8-4-4 education system, Kenya’s curriculum.

The school’s mission is to provide a conducive learning environment to enable the girls to realize their fullest potential and develop into responsible citizens in future.

Chogoria Girls is located in Tharaka NITHI County, in Mwimbi sub-county, Chogoria location.

It is located approximately 40km south of Meru Town, 200 km North of Nairobi.

CHOGORIA GIRLS HIGH KCSE RESULTS

In KCSE 2018,Chogoria Girls High was among the top 5 best schools in Tharaka Nithi County.

It had a KCSE Mean Score of 10.659.

21 KCSE candidates attained the rare mean grade A and 104 girls scored an A-(MINUS).

CHOGORIA GIRLS FORM ONE ADMISSION

The school absorbs at least 250 form one students every year.

Selection is done online by the Ministry of Education and is merit-based.
