Ruth Matete: This is what actually killed Ruth Matete’s Nigerian Husband- sepsis & multiple organ failure (Autopsy)
Kenyan Gospel musician Ruth Matete’s husband died from complications resulting from 60% burns he suffered after a gas explosion in their home on March 30, 2020.
Addressing the media at the KNH mortuary after examining Pastor-John Apewajoye’ s body, Johansen Oduor, chief government pathologist confirmed that John Olakanmi Apewajoye indeed succumbed to complications including sepsis and multiple organ failure resulting from the 60% burns.
However, Ruth Matete is not yet allowed to bury her beloved husband until the Nigerian Government issues a directive allowing its release.
Homicide
Dr. Oduor was in charge of a team comprising four pathologists and senior homicide detectives in conducting pastor Apewajoye’s post mortem at the Kenyatta National Hospital Mortuary in Nairobi on Thursday afternoon.
“He died of burns which were mixed degree burns estimated at 60 percent. In burns, what kills are the complications that arise. In this case, there was sepsis, multiple organ failure, and all that (sic),” explained Dr. Oduor.
He further said that John Apewajoye’ s body did not have any marks indicative of injuries.
“We checked and there was none,” added Dr. Oduor.
