TSC Releases new List of Hardship Areas and Counties incorporated into the new CBA 2021-2025: Here are the respective counties and selected sub-counties

Latest TSC News 2021: Good news reaching us at newspro is the fact that the Teachers Service Commission, TSC-Kenya has dispatched 95% of posting letters for newly recruited teachers.
The Commission has at the same time released a new list of Hardship Counties as directed by the world bank last year.
According to a report released by the World Bank, revising the number of Hardship Areas could greatly reduce the ballooning wage bill at a time when Kenya is struggling to make ends meet.
The World Bank thus suggested a reduction of the number of Hardship Areas in 2020 since some of the counties have greatly developed hence no longer considered Hardship.

TSC Hardship Allowance per Job Group 2021-2025
Hardship allowance on that note is therefore paid in an effort to compensate for the cost of living for teachers working in areas designated as hardship.
As stated above, teachers working in hardship areas face a couple of challenges; ranging from lack of enough and clean water, constant flooding to hostile living conditions characterized by constant attacks from bandits.
Way back in December, 2014, the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, SRC, reviewed hardship Allowances to be paid at a flat rate for all equivalent grades/ job groups.
The Commission however effectively abolished the pegging of the hardship allowance as a percentage of basic pay.
