TSC Promotions 2022- Joy for P1 Teachers with Degrees as TSC plans the following

TSC promotions 2022– The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has got greater plans for Teachers with higher Qualification, degrees this year.

According to data released by the Commission, TSC compliant teachers currently serving in various primary Schools but with degree qualifications will be posted to secondary schools in under the full roll out of the new Competence-based curriculum, CBC to handle junior secondary learners.

Since the implementation of the first Collective Bargaining Agreements, CBA, the Commission has been annually promoting a total of 1,000 P1 teachers per year to serve in various secondary schools.

Reporting Dates for Promoted  P1  Teachers with Higher Qualifications, Deployment 2022

Primary school Teachers with degrees posted to serve in junior secondary schools will henceforth report to their new work stations in secondary schools within a month following successful recruitment. The Commission gives them a grace period not exceeding 14 days to reorganize themselves and report to work lest they be scrapped from the list of TSC employees and their application be rendered useless. 

Last year, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) conducted interviews for P1 teachers’ promotions interviews. These interviews saw 1000 P1 teachers get deployed to teach in secondary schools.

Delayed interview results
Kuppet is also demanding answers on behalf of some some teachers being invited for fresh interviews when they had done the same in December 2020, and are yet to receive any communication on the outcome.

The Commission has also not released promotion results for teachers who attended interviews in February this year.

Thousands of teachers who attended the interviews are patiently waiting for the results; whose processing must have been slowed down by involvement of the TSC Senior Secretariat staff in administration of the KCPE and KCSE examinations.

A total of 32,431 teachers were shortlisted and interviewed in February. The teachers are fighting for the 15,226 available promotion vacancies. The Commission is seeking to fill 1,341 vacancies for Deputy Principal I and another 1,096 vacancies for Deputy Principals II.

A majority of the interviewees will be battling out for the 6,680 vacancies available for teachers in grade C3 (Formerly L). Successful candidates will be promoted to grade C4 (Senior Master IV) which is the entry grade to the administrative positions in Post Primary Learning Institutions.
