TSC Issues a new deadline for registration of teachers for the community-based program, CBL
The Teachers Service, TSC has notified teachers about the new deadline for the community-based learning program registration.
Through its bulk SMS service, the Commission made it clear that the deadline for registration is today on Monday August 24 at exactly 5.00 p.m.
“Dear Mrs….The deadline for registration of the ongoing mapping of teachers at zonal and sub-county levels for the community-based learning is on Monday August 24, 2020. This will enable easier allocation of venues at your nyumba kumi area,” wrote the commission.
Ministry delinks itself from wild claims linking CBL to teachers’ salaries
This comes at a time when there are rumours going round about teachers who fail to register for the CBL program being denied their salaries.
Based on the latest data released by the commission, over 100, 000 teachers are yet to submit their details for the nyumba kumi learning.
The education ministry through a formal circular yesterday however distanced itself from the wild claims linking CBL to teachers’ salaries.
The circular made it clear that failure to register for community based learning does not attract penalties for teachers bordering on their pay.

Teaching areas have already been mapped out to guide teachers throughout the program.
The CS education has also said that teachers will not focus on the curriculum since learners may be at different levels of learning.
