PROFESSOR MAGOHA’S SPEECH HIGHLIGHTS
Professor Magoha today released the 2019 KCPE results. Here are key highlights from his speech:
PROFESSOR MAGOHA’S VOTE OF THANKS
He began by thanking all the education key stakeholders for making the KCPE monitoring and evaluation exercise a success.
He also sincerely thanked the Presidency whose efforts towards ensuring a successful coordination of the KCPE 2019 exam was noted.
Professor Magoha further discouraged the use of unorthodox means to cheat in the KCPE 2019 national exam.
One of the most notable cases was in Nyandarua, a privately-owned examination centre dared to engage in overt cheating.
10 people and 8 examination KCPE officials were arrested following the 2019 KCPE exam irregularities.

Professor Magoha also took pride in the fact that no single 2019 KCPE exam question was leaked.
PROFESSOR MAGOHA ON TEENAGE PREGNANCIES
According to Professor Magoha’s speech, more than 50 cases of Teenage Pregnancies and births were reported during the 2018 KCPE national exam.
Consequently, the Ministry of Education launched an awareness campaign in all parts of the country to reverse this sorry state of affairs.
The campaign bore fruits since, in the year 2019, cases of teenage pregnancies drastically reduced to 10.
PROFESSOR MAGOHA ON THE 100% TRANSITION- FORM ONE SELECTION
Professor Magoha also said that President Uhuru Kenyatta has requested the Ministry of Education to ensure that all KCPE candidates get admitted to secondary schools.
He further added that the Ministry has already put in place measures to support the initiative.
Besides, the Government has set aside sh 8 billion to build classrooms and laboratories in 110 sub-counties across 30 counties next year.
ELIMU SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR NEEDY LEARNERS
In a bid to enhance the Free Day Tuition programme in secondary schools, the Government will offer full scholarship opportunities to 9,000 form one students from targeted regions.
The full scholarship programme is called ELIMU SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME.
The programme will be run by Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project.
COMPETENCE BASED PROGRAMME, CBC 2019
Professor Magoha assured Kenyans that the Ministry of Education is well prepared to ensure a successful rollout of CBC at Grade 4 next year.
So far, the printing of Grade 4 textbooks will be concluded on 25th November while the distribution will be over by 17th December 2019.
He also took pride in the great stride made by the Ministry of Education-achieving a 1:1 learner: textbook ratio in both primary and secondary schools.
HERE IS A DETAILED ANALYSIS OF THE 2019 KCPE EXAM RESULTS- IMPORTANT FIGURES AND DATES
Professor George Magoha, the CS Education in Kenya, has confirmed that all the 1 088 986 KCPE candidates this year will successfully transit to secondary schools.
He said this as he was releasing the KCPE national exams’ results today.
Professor Magoha further added that the candidates would have seleced their preferred secondary schools by 2nd December 2019.
