NEW AON MINET ENHANCED MEDICAL SCHEME FOR TSC TEACHERS

At least 315, 000 TSC employees will now get access to the benefits of enhanced medical cover after the Teachers Service Commission renewed their deal with AON Minet Insurance. The new contract will last three years.

In the new contract, TSC has increased the allocation of funds in each cover.

A whooping sh 9 billion will be used to facilitate the new enhanced medical scheme.

Teachers will now enjoy the following enhanced insurance packages:

  1. Outpatient services
  2. Inpatient services
  3. Optical services
  4. Maternity services
  5. Group life
  6. Dental services
  7. Last expense-funeral

Besides this teachers will also access treatment while in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda or Rwanda.

The good news is that in special cases where treatment is not locally available, AON will facilitate international evacuation.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR AON MINET INSURANCE PACKAGES

All TSC employed teachers are automatically eligible for cover.

The principal member- contributor is however expected to register himself/ herself and their dependants.

There are two steps followed that is Unstructured Supplementary Service Data registration (USSD) and Biometric registration.

The following details are mandatory:

  1. ID Number

2. TSC Number

PRINCIPAL MEMBER REGISTRATION GUIDE

  1. Dial *865# using your Safaricom or Airtel mobile phone number.
  2. Fill your TSC and National ID number which will be verified against the AON Minet database.
  3. If successful, you will be requested to enter your name, gender and role.
  4. Once you are through, you will receive a confirmation message and a prompt message to register your dependents.

REGISTRATION OF DEPENDENTS

  1. Dial *865# using your Safaricom or Airtel mobile phone number.
  2. Select the dependent you wish to register that is either spouse or child.
  3. Enter the Date of Birth, Name (full) and ID Number or Birth Certificate Number.

HOW TO ACCESS AON MEDICAL SERVICES

TSC members can access AON Minet services on the company’s online panel.

The list can also be accessed by dialling *340# using your Safaricom or Airtel line then following the instructions on the screen.

REFERRAL AND SPECIALIST SERVICES

Cases where referral or specialist services are required include:

  1. Services that may be sought directly such as MRI, X-Ray, Gynaecological care, Oncology, Chemotherapy etc. In this case, the member should visit a primary care provider for a referral letter allowing him/  her seek the services at a referral service provider within AON’s panel.
  2. When the service provider is not contracted to offer the particular service sought, the service provider will give a referral letter to the member specifying the service sought and the name of the service provider they are being referred to.
