Minimum Admission Requirements

a) A candidate who wishes to register for a Bachelor of Science in Analytical Chemistry degree must have the following minimum University general admissions requirements;

 (i) At least C+(Plus) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.

(ii) At least C- (Minus) in KCSE and a Diploma or its equivalent.

(iii) At least two Principal Passes in KACE. 

 
b) In addition to meeting (a) above, candidates wishing to register for a Bachelor of Science in Analytical Chemistry degree must have any of the following:

(i) At least C+(Plus) in KCSE or its equivalent with passes in at least three subjects in either of the following two alternatives (A or B):

Alternative A

Chemistry  C+

Biology  C+

Physics   C+

Geography  C+

Mathematics  C+

Computer Science C+

 

Alternative B

Physical Sciences C+

Biological Sciences C+

Geography  C+

Mathematics   C+

Computer Science C+  
 
(ii) At least C- (Minus) in KCSE and a KNEC Diploma or its equivalent in physical science subjects (Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Industrial Chemistry), with at least a pass

 

 

 

 

The course prepares students to partake in careers in both the private and public sectors. The program is offered to both government and non-governmental organizations Six semesters Tuition Fees per semester are approximately KSH 60,000 but there may be slight variations from one university to the other.
A-Level
  1. KCE/EACE Division II with a Pass in Maths or Business Course & one language
  2. ‘A’ level with at least 2 (two) Subsidiary Passes
  3. KCSE mean grade C- OR KCE/EACE DIV. III with a Professional Certificate* from a recognized Institution
Undergraduate Diploma
  1. KCE/EACE Division II with a Pass in Maths or Business Course & one language
  2. ‘A’ level with at least 2 (two) Subsidiary Passes

Course Objectives

The Diploma in Business Management prepares undergraduate students for careers in management in both public and private sectors of the economy and also forms the foundation for undergraduate degrees in relevant fields.  It also provides an avenue for achieving the Millennium Development Goals and the objectives of Vision 2030 for national development. This program is highly relevant in all areas of management in organizations as it meets the needs of upcoming managers or those who need specific skills in the management of projects. The programme intends to offer education and training in planning and management to a broad spectrum of students from the East African region and beyond.
