Knec invites KCSE and KCPE 2020 Examiners for the April 2021 Marking Exercise; See the revised KNEC payment rates for examiners per script then download your invitation letter

Since the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE national exams were rescheduled to commence in March 2021, the Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC has officially invited trained and interested examiners for the April 2021 KCSE and KCPE marking exercise.
Interested trained Knec KCPE Examiners can access the knec site as from 16th March, 2021 whereas trained KCSE KNEC Examiners can log in and download their invitation letters as from 22nd March, 2021.
Latest Knec instructions for KCPE and KCSE 2020 examiners
Examiners concerned are expected to do the following:
1. Access the official KNEC Contracted Professionals Website using this link https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke;
those with cp2 accounts and passwords, log in to the Examiners portal using your username and password;
those without passwords, click on reset password button to enter your mobile number in the format (2547********) and submit to get your username and password for logging to the system;
2. Upon successful log in, complete your personal information and save.
3. Using the dashboard provided
access, read, accept or reject the invitation letter provided.
4. After accepting the offer letter, download and print the invitation letter.

INCREASED KNEC PAYMENT RATES PER SCRIPT FOR ALL KCSE EXAMINERS 2021
Good news for the examiners who will accept Knec invitation to mark KCSE 2020 exams in April 2021 following the Council’s decision to revise payment rates upwards
The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC in 2019 agreed to increase KCSE payment rates per script for contracted KCSE Examiners after teachers contracted to mark the 2019 KCSE national exams downed their tools at various marking centres.

The council finally bowed to pressure from both teachers and the teachers’ union, KUPPET and revised KNEC payment rates per script upwards by a few shillings.

KNEC has released new payment rates for all the subjects, including Business Paper-II.

BUSINESS PAPER II NEW KNEC PAYMENT RATES PER SCRIPT
Although the angry examiners were demanding to have the payment rate increased from Kshs 46 to 68 per script, KNEC agreed to pay them Kshs 56 per script.
BIOLOGY PAPER III NEW KNEC PAYMENT RATES PER SCRIPT
Examiners marking this year’s Biology Paper III will pocket Kshs 50 per script.
COMPUTER PAPER ONE NEW KNEC PAYMENT RATES PER SCRIPT
Teachers marking Computer Paper I will receive Kshs 54 per script.
KUPPET’S PROPOSED KNEC PAYMENT RATES PER SCRIPT
The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers, KUPPET had given KNEC a 7-days-ultimatum to increase the payment rates of all KNEC examiners to a flat rate of Kshs 100 per script in 2019.
If Knec yielded, each Contracted Knec examiner would have received the same amount irrespective of the subjects being marked.
KUPPET further observed that KNEC examiners were receiving a mere pittance despite the indispensable role they play in the process of assessment.
