A total of twenty five (25) Secondary schools booked their tickets to the 2026 East Africa School Games (FEASSSA) that will be held in Morogoro, Tanzania. This after the completion of the 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term 1 Games on Saturday 11th April, 2026.

Basketball FEASSSA 2026 Qualifiers

In basketball Girls, Butere, Kaya Tiwi and St. Brigid’s Girls Kiminini bagged FEASSSA tickets after taking position 1, 2 and 3 respectively. While, in Boys, the fate of Laiser Hill Academy remains in the balance after they were turned away from the Medal awards ceremony by the KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi. The boys appeared at the ceremony dressed in Civilian clothes; instead of the official sponsors’ (Brookside) jerseys. Ngugi immediately announced that their slot will be taken by St. Mary’s School Yala who finished fourth. The other two slots will be taken by the new champions Friends School Kamusinga and Silver Medalists Lukenya School.

Qualified Teams in Hockey

In hockey girls four top teams will be representing Kenya at the 2026 FEASSSA games. The list of qualifiers includes: St. Joseph’s Girls Kitale (JOGA), Nyamira Girls, Ng’iya Girls and AIC Nyayo Girls. In the Boys’ category, only three top teams will be proceeding to Morogoro. These teams are: Champions St. Anthony’s Boys, Silver Medalists Friends School Kamusinga and Bronze Medalists Ringa Boys.

Other FEASSSA Qulaifiers.

Both Handball Boys and Girls will also have four representatives each. In Rugby 15’s all the top 4 teams will be heading to Morogoro in August. The 2026 FEASSSA qualifiers’ list also features Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming. Rugby 15’s winners in the Girls’ category will not be featuring in FEASSSA as the discipline is yet to be adopted. But, speaking at the closing ceremony of this year’s term games Ngugi promised to push for inclusion of the sport at the FEASSSA Games.

This year’s edition of the East Africa School Games will be held in Morogoro Tanzania from August 12th to 23rd, 2026. Team Kenya will be battling hard to retain the overall trophy that they won at the 2025 edition held in Kakamega.

2026 Brookside KSSSA National Term 1 Games || Basketball Girls’ Final Preview.

Butere Girls versus Kaya Tiwi.

Butere Girls’ Basketball team will tomorrow meet Kaya Tiwi in the National Finals of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Games. This is the second time that the teams will be meeting; post Corona (since 2022).

Western Region’s Butere Girls have clinched three back to back titles (2023, 2024 and 2025). They also picked Bronze at the 2025 Federation of East Africa School Games (FEASSA).

On their part, the Coastal power houses (Kaya Tiwi) have four National Titles to their name; 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022. They also won the East Africa School Games (FEASSSA) trophy in 2016.
