1. Foundations and Catholic Heritage
The school was founded as a Catholic institution sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Wote (formerly part of the Machakos Diocese). It was established to address the need for high-quality education for girls in the Kibwezi region. 2. Rise to National Stardom
For many years, St. Joseph’s Kibwezi operated as a provincial (later Extra-County) school. However, its consistent performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and its disciplined environment caught the attention of the Ministry of Education.
