According to the police report, the officers got wind of the meeting from members of the public who tipped them.

On arrival, the police found 500 people, tents that had been erected all over the compound, parked vehicles and motorcycles.

In the process of arresting the organizers of the meeting, Aisha Jumwa arrived in the company of her aids and other unidentified people.

As the MP tried to inquire about what was happening, the unruly crowd began pelting stones and other crude weapons at her team.

What followed was a scuffle prompting Jumwa’s bodyguard to shoot in the air.
