TSC Teacher Registration Guidelines 2023/ 2024: How to Check Your TSC Teacher Registration Status Online and Why TSC May Trash Your TSC Number Registration 2023/2024
The Teachers Service Commission recently released new TSC teacher registration guidelines.
According to the guidelines provided, all new teacher graduates must meet particular criteria before their application for registration as teachers by the Teachers Service Commission, TSC online is accepted.
TSC latest Academic and Professional Requirements for Registration of Teachers 2021/2022
To successfully apply for your TSC number and/or certificate, you must meet the following minimum requirements set by the Commission and possess the following academic and Professional documents
TSC List of Academic and Professional Documents for New Teacher Registration Online 2021/2022
A copy of your national Identity card
Certified copies of your professional and Academic certificates-KCPE, KCSE, University or College Certificate, School leaving certificate for primary and secondary level
A copy of your KRA PIN
GP69 form
Bank Slip showing that you have paid the required TSC registration processing fee
Certificate of good conduct
One standard passport size photo
For non-kenyans, foreigners certified copies of entry and work permits
Registration fee of Kshs 1, 055 payable via M-PESA business number 625625

Key points to note
TSC does not accept Hard Copy applications
All sections must be filled
Please fill the required information only
If you deliberately provide false details to the Teachers Service Commission, the law provides that any person convicted of the aforementioned crime will pay a fine of up to Kshs 100,000 or be imprisoned for a period not exceeding 12 months or both
Scan and attach required documents only
Original documents should be scanned and uploaded
For new application, a non-refundable fee of Kshs 1,055 should be paid.

How to apply for your TSC number or Certificate online at https://teachersonline.tsc.go.ke
Step 1: From your browser, access the official TSC online system for new teacher registration at https://teachersonline.tsc.go.ke as shown in the image below
Step 2: click on New Teacher Registration” tab
Step 3: You will be redirected to a newly loaded window.
Step 4: fill in your National Id number and surname then click next. This will redirect you to another window where you will fill the required details then select the category for which you are applying for ie ECDE, primary or post primary (secondary)
Step 5: select your KCSE mean grade and the year
Step 6: A new window where you will fill your basic details such as Id number, surname and gender will load
Step 7: Upload the required documents listed above
Step 8: click on the save documents. N/B: Remember to compress your documents since the TSC teacher Registration Portal rejects files or documents bigger than 1 MB.
Step 9: Fill the subjects studied and other relevant details such as whether you have ever been dismissed from TSC or convicted for any crime. Fill the payment information and payment slip number
Step 10: Save your work and finalize the process.

How to easily monitor your TSC Registration status Online
Upon successful application for your TSC number online, it is your responsibility to monitor the progress to see whether the Commission has approved your application.
You can check your TSC new teacher Registration status by visiting the official TSC portal at https//teachersonline.tsc.go.ke/regstatus.aspx
Then click on the tab labelled “Registration Status”
Fill in your identity card or passport number and press go. A TSC confirmation message will pop up showing the progress of your application status as follows
TSC indicators for new teacher registration processing status
In Progress: means that your application has been received by TSC registry but it is yet to be processed
Verified: means your application has been combed through for any incorrect details and has been cleared of any inconsistency
Registered- means that you have been successfully registered. Your TSC number will be displayed. The Commission also notifies the applicant about the successful application for their TSC number through a confirmation message.
Reset- means that there is an error in your application that needs to be corrected first before the commission can approve your application. The Commission usually notifies the applicant via SMS showing the specific error noted.
Incomplete- means that some details have been omitted.
Note that sometimes the processing status may be blank which means that the application is in a transitional phase. You need not worry, just give it a few days.
