TSC Disowns Misleading Information Published by “The Standard” on March 27, 2020, about the Hiring 8, 141 TSC Intern Teachers on Permanent and Pensionable Terms, details below
TSC Clears the air on the Confirmation of the 8, 141 Interns
“8, 000 teacher interns hired, placed on Payroll” was the controversial, ambiguous and misleading title published on 27th March 2020 by “The Standard” that led many Kenyans to believe that the 8, 141 2019 intern teachers had been hired on permanent and Pensionable terms by their employer, TSC.
The most regrettable part is the fact that this article was widely shared and read given the sensitive nature of the information.
The controversial article appeared today in The Standard newspaper’s March 27, 2020 hard copy.
To clear the confusion, TSC Head of Communications boss Ms. Beatrice Wababu was forced to clear the air about the hiring of the 8, 141 TSC interns today.
Below is the message that Ms. Wababu wrote on the TSC official Twitter account:
“MISLEADING STORY IN TODAY’S NEWSPAPER”
“It has come to my attention that the hard copy edition of today’s Standard Newspapers has reported that TSC has hired 8, 141 intern teachers permanently.
I wish to state here that this information is incorrect and unfortunate. The same is being addressed.”
