If CS Magoha’s latest sentiments are anything to go by, then learners in Kenya may not resume learning in January 2021 as earlier planned.
Some of the key areas that the Magoha-led inspection is targeting include availability of water and other facilities likely to facilitate a smooth reopening of schools during this Covid-ridden era.
“Teachers can therefore start to prepare to report back to their schools to make them habitable before students report. And at that time, we will have phased reopening with priority given to exam classes. In fact, technical colleges are likely to reopen soon,” added Magoha.
principals and head teachers are expected to resume duty immediately and work closely with management boards to facilitate a synchronized reopening of schools soon.
“The media has made me look like someone who did not go to school. They have made me look like a person who flip-flops; someone who says this today, and says that tomorrow. I want to tell you (journalists) that I am above that kind of nonsense,” said Magoha.
