This is a national public boys’ boarding secondary school located in Westlands constituency in Nairobi county, Kenya. It was founded in 1902 by the British settlers who had made Nairobi their home after the construction of the Uganda railway. Lord Delamare and Sir Edward Grigg went ahead and separated the European Nairobi school into a senior boys’ school(Prince of Wales school), a senior girls’ school (Kenya High school), and a junior school (Nairobi primary school) in 1925.

Notable alumni include Geoffrey Griffin who was the founder of Starehe Boys Centre, Shakeel Shabbir who was the former Kisumu lawyer and the current MP, Musalia Mudavadi, who is a politician and former vice president (2002), Paul Otuoma, who is a politician and Member of Parliament and Kleptomaniax, which is a hip hop boy band.

This school is located near Nairobi town in Westlands constituency, Nairobi county, Kenya. In 1931, a new school was built on the 250-acre piece of land in Kabete after which it was named ‘the Prince of Wales school’. The school was later renamed Lenana school in 1965 after Kenya attained its independence. The school is commonly referred to as ‘Patch.’

The national school proved its worth after scooping position 20 nationally with several straight As thus emerging among the Top 200 schools nationally and the Top 10 best performing and top-ranking schools in Nairobi County.
The school became position 19 nationally in 2017’s KCSE with a mean score of 64.31.
