Lulu is married to her co-host, Swahili news anchor Rashid Abdalla. Together, they have tasted the joys of parenthood having been blessed with three beautiful children.

The award-winning news anchor and host Lulu Hassan went to the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa for her secondary school education. She later joined Salrene Travel Operations where she trained as a cabin crew, hostess, human resource manager, and ticketing officer.

Her first job as a radio broadcaster at Radio Salaam in Mombasa made her realize that her voice could do more wonders other than just air hostessing. She went back to college and studied Mass Communication and Journalism.
