Kenya 2022 Polls; Results Transmission
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC has enabled a well-developed online portal for the 2022 August polls’ transmission.
So far, the IEBC has received provisional results for several counties within the Central region through a specialized and dedicated RTS system specially designed for transmitting provisional results electronically to an observation center.
The results for various constituencies are still streaming in. Kenyans are yet to know the outcome of the 2022 polls for gubernatorial, senatorial, MCA, Women representatives, and Presidential seats.
14 hours have already passed since the closure of the 2022 August 9 polls. Kenyans are still patiently waiting for the final results of the elections.
Those spreading incorrect results are hereby warned against sharing any political information that is yet to be verified by the IEBC since this will definitely fan political temperatures in the country.
Election postponement and adjournment
In some parts of the nation, elections have been put off following incidences of violence and/or errors in ballot papers.
Mombasa and Kakamega counties are yet to vote in their preferred gubernatorial candidates following gross errors in ballot papers.
KIEMS Kit Failure
In some polling stations, the process of conducting polls was delayed due to the failure of KIEMS kits that are used to digitally identify voters.
The polling officers were therefore forced to resort to the manual identification of voters.
Violence against Women
Observers have noted with a lot of concern that there have been a few cases of gender-based violence against women agents in 200 polling stations.
