Officer Kenei’s body was discovered at his home at Imara Daima on Thursday with a bullet lodged on his head.
According to Citizen News, the AP officer was on duty the day former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa dropped by DP Ruto’s office at Harambee House Annex accompanied by two foreigners entangled in the Kshs 39 billion military equipment scandal.
The deceased officer was the only remaining officer out of five officers who had not been interrogated on former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa’s visit to DP Ruto’s Harambee House Annex Office.
The family of the AP Officer Kipyegon Kenei have since expressed displeasure about how the depressing news was revealed to them.
They claim that the Government should have notified them first before airing the news.
According to Mr Chesang, Officer Kenei’s father, his sons’ fiancée and their two children are still devastated by the depressing news.
The two love birds were to cement their love in August this year and wedding plans were underway.
Their firstborn is in form one while the second born is just a week old.
Officer Kenei’s family now want justice for their son as they refute claims that the officer may have committed suicide.
