The Council of Governors’ chair Wycliffe Oparanya has pleaded with Kenyans living in urban areas to stop the exodus to rural areas.

This is because counties are not well equipped with enough facilities to handle the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the CoG chair, counties are incapacitated since they only have 2 per cent county emergency budget.

Governor Oparanya further added that even the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority, KEMSA cannot cope with the Coronavirus pandemic.

Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati has also Urged Kenyans to self quarantine since the next two weeks are crucial to Kenya.

He compared Kenya to Italy whose citizens ignored the plea to quarantine themselves leading to a serious outbreak of the Covid 19.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has also called upon the elderly people to self quarantine since they are likely to get hit by the Coronavirus more than the younger generation.
