KUCCPS Placement Results 2022-2023 for diploma courses and cluster points – frequently asked questions, FAQs

KUCCPS Placement Results 2021-2022 for diploma courses and cluster points – frequently asked questions, FAQs

How long does a KUCCPS diploma course take in Kenya?
TVET diploma courses take 3 years on average. Note that most are KNEC/CDACC Examined.

Does KUCCPS sponsor diploma students?
Yes. KUCCPS sponsors students to the tune of Kshs.30000/- per year (this is the annual capitation). Part of this amount is sent to the institution to cater for tuition fees while the balance is wired to the student’s bank account to cater for their upkeep.

What are the best diploma courses in Kenya?
Because most of the kuccps business diploma courses are flooded (many unemployed youths hold these diplomas), we recommend that you pursue a technical diploma course such as building, mechanical engineering, refrigeration& air conditioning, etc.

The best thing about these courses is that you can easily employ yourself if jobs are not forthcoming.

Who is eligible for KUCCPS diploma courses?
Any student who have a KCSE certificate (from this year all the way back to year 2000) can apply for placement in kuccps diploma and certificate courses (and even degree courses).

Note that to be eligible, those from earlier years should not have attended a college under KUCCPS sponsorship previously.

What are the current kuccps diploma courses qualifications?
The general qualification is a C- mean grade (minimum in your KCSE). However, some courses need a C plain and others a C+. See the earlier sections for the complete list of kuccps diploma courses and requirements.

KUCCPS New University Cut Off Points for Both Male and Female KCSE 2021-2022 Students

KUCCPS New University Cut Off Points for Both Male and Female KCSE 2021-2022 Students

The new KUCCPS cutoff points for male candidates starting May 2022 currently stand at C+, Plus, while the cut-off criteria for female candidates are two points lower but still at C+ plus.

KUCCPS has increased the cut-off points for university entry due to the rise in performance.

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) has published the revised cut-off points for KCSE 2021 candidates seeking university admission.

The cutoff points for male candidates are two points higher, while the cutoff criteria for female candidates are two points lower.

Following the customary affirmative action approach, females’ points have been reduced by two points. Admission to universities is expected to begin in September.

An average of 20,000 students enroll in private universities, while 30,000 students enroll in self-sponsored courses that allow them to study abroad.

If students want to attend universities, they should strive to achieve high grades. This is due to the fact that they never know where the next cutoff will be in order to avoid being left out of the university placement.

The KUCCPS Cut-off Cluster Points for Top Marketable Courses will henceforth get revised upwards. The current KUCCPS cluster points per course differ from one university to the other but here is the range for some of the highly competitive courses

Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology may be facing a crisis soon after an inspection report revealed that 2 of its campuses in Kakamega and Eldoret did not meet the required set standards to operate. Consequently, the university has been served with a closure notice lest it addresses the issues raised within three months.

Kisii University has also been directed by the Commission for University Education CUE to address quality issues raised by the report in three of its satellite campuses in Kapenguria, Migori and Nairobi within 12 months.

According to the inspection report, JKUAT Kakamega Campus is over-relying on part-time academic staff hence creating a shortage of full-time staff. Other key challenges include inadequate supervisors to supervise the 718 postgraduate students, lack of a health unit, academic staff offices, departmental areas and students centre.

At JKUAT’s Migori Campus, the report revealed that there is a lot of distraction hence creating unfavourable conditions for learning. According to the report, the campus should address noise emanating from one side of the building and ensure that there is adequate print resource in the library. Besides, the campus should deploy qualified academic leaders.

The two universities have since received the audit reports directing them to act within the given time as from January, 2020.
