TSC latest news- Salaries: Teachers get increased salaries, tax relief as TSC pays April 2020 Salaries
The Teachers Service Commission, TSC has finally paid teachers their dues. Having paid attention to the Government’s directive about the 5% tax relief, teachers employed by the Commission will be smiling all the way to the bank this month following the increased pay for April 2020.
Tax relief bill
Teachers, just like other employees in Kenya have benefitted from the Tax Laws (Amendment) Bill 2020 that President Uhuru Kenyatta signed a few days ago.
This tax amendment bill is part of the Kenyan Governments’ initiative to cushion Kenyans from the harsh economic times ushered in by the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
In the new tax relief era, employees earning less than Kshs 28, 000 have gotten 100% tax relief while those earning more than Kshs 28, 000 will enjoy PAYE tax reduction from 30% to 25 %.
