IEBC Voter Registration Status 2022; Commission Reveals Official Number of Registered Voters Per County For 2022 General Election

The Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission, IEBC,is a constitutionally mandated body charged with the responsibility of registering new voters, sensitizing citizens about the need to take part in the voting process and most importantly conducting and releasing election results. In preparation for the forthcoming 2022 general elections, the IEBC  has posted list of registered voters in its website for the 2022 General Election.

According to the data on the commission’s website, a total of 22,102,532 voters are registered in the country.

IEBC List of Top 10 Counties with the Highest Number of Registered Voters as of the year 2022

Three counties out of the 47 have over one million registered voters. Nairobi County takes the lead with 2,415,310  registered voters making it the only county with over 2 million registered voters.

Kiambu county scooped the second best position with a total of 1,275,008 registered voters while Nakuru county came third with 1,054,856 registered voters.

The above statistics are key when it comes to laying proper campaign strategies especially for presidential hopefuls who must garner 50%+1 votes to make it to the state house.

IEBC Voter Registration Status 2022; Counties with the Lowest Number of Registered Voters

Lamu county has the lowest number of registered voters. It has only 81,453.

Election is slated for 9th day of August, 2022.
