<p><strong>The Teachers Service Commission may fail to conduct (TSC) replacement interviews this year in a bid to cut down on the cost of employing teachers.</strong></p>
<p><strong>A privy source whose identity we will not reveal for obvious reasilons has confided in our team confirming that the Commission may replace teachers using the interview results and merit lists used in the July 2022 Mass Recruitment exercise.</strong></p>
<p><strong>According to the privy source, the Commission will simply reach out to the shortlisted applicants for the July mass Recruitment using the contacts provided on the TSC online recruitment portal to enquire and confirm whether they were able to bag the TSC mass recruitment slots.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Using the order of merit, the Teachers Service Commission will sieve applicants who were qualified but we&#8217;re not slotted among the top 5 and forward their names for posting to schools with replacement vacancies this December.</strong></p>
<p><strong>At the same time, a section of leaders from Kakamega County have called on the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to put mechanisms in place that shall see tutors who exit the profession replaced immediately.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>The leaders said that replacement of teachers who leave should not be pegged on the nationwide recruitment of new tutors.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>“For instance, we have teachers who have just exited classroom for politics. So you find they have left voids in the schools they were stationed. This causes suffering to the learners as they have to wait for too long to get replacements,” said Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>The sentiments were echoed by his Shinyalu counterpart Fred Ikana who said that TSC should have a pool of teachers from whom they can immediately pick replacements for those who have died, rendered incapacitated or joined other fields.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>“The annual recruitment of teachers should be divorced from replacements. The recruitments are meant to narrow the teacher-learner ratio while replacements are supposed to maintain the status quo to prevent widening of the existing imbalance,” he added.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>The leaders said many teachers had left the profession this year alone with a number either securing political seats or jobs in county governments.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Kakamega County Chairman Patrick Chungani said over twenty of his members vied for various seats in the August 9 elections and a handful turned out successful.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>“Several of our members exited TSC’s payroll and have left serious vacuums in their former stations. This must be addressed urgently,” he added.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>Chungani was also in the race for the Muhanda Ward seat in Shinyalu Constituency but lost.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>His Secretary Archadeous Liyayi, however, managed to clinch the Idakho Central Ward seat in Ikolomani Constituency.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>Some of the teachers who have exited from TSC said they felt for their learners.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>“I constantly miss my sons because I feel like I left them in the middle of</strong> the sea. My prayer is that they get a worthy replacement soon,” said Sylvia Muteshi who used to teach at St. Augustine Ilala Boys Boarding Primary School situated in Shinyalu but has now secured nomination to the Kakamega County Assembly.</p>

<p>Her remarks were seconded by another teacher Emmanuel Makokha who has been recruited by the Kakamega County Government as an advisor to Governor Fernandes Barasa.</p>

<p><strong>There was uproar after the online system only allowed secondary school teachers to apply for the advertised vacancies.</strong></p>

<p><strong>Teachers’ employer has now come out to give the way forward for the affected teachers.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>In a statement today TSC says primary school teachers will not apply for the replacement vacancies through the online platform but will be selected from the merit list compiled during the recruitment of additional teachers in July 2021.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>“In the January 2022 advertisement on natural attrition, primary school teachers will be selected from the merit list compiled during the recruitment of additional teachers – July 2021,” reads the statement.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>Of the 2,945 vacancies to replace teachers exiting service through natural attrition, 2,053 posts are for primary schools and 892 posts for secondary schools.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>Eligibility</strong></p>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong>To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Be a Kenyan citizen;</strong></p>
<p><strong>Must be a holder of a P1 certificate in the case of primary schools and a minimum of a diploma in education in the case of secondary schools;</strong></p>

After the short holiday occasioned by the seemingly dull christmas festivities,the Teachers Service Commission, TSC Kenya has honoured its pledge and resumed the process of recruiting more teachers ahead of the full rollout of the Competence-based curriculum in Kenya.</h1>
<p>This follows the recent announcement of approximately 3 000 teaching Vacancies.</p>
<h2><strong>TSC Recruitment Vacancies 2022: The Teachers Service Commission, TSC Kenya announces 2945 Vacancies.</strong></h2>
<p>2053 vacancies have been reserved for lrimary school teachers and 892 have been reserved for diploma and degree holders who will be posted to secondary schools.</p>
<p>New TSC Recruitment Conditions</p>
<p>The teachers who shall be enlisted for interviews and later employed will serve on permanent and pensionable conditions of service.</p>
<p>Requirements</p>
<p>In order to qualify to be enlisted,the applicant should meet the below requirements;</p>
<p>1.They should be a Kenyan Citizen</p>
<p>2. In the case of Primary School, they should have a P 1 Certificate and for the Case of Secondary School, they should have a minimum of diploma in Education.</p>
<p>3.They should also be a Teacher registered with The Teachers Service Commission.</p>
<p>Procedure of Application</p>
<p>Candidates that are interested and are Qualified are required to submit their application online via the Teachers Service Commission’s Website www.tsc.go.ke in the category of Careers or they can also submit their application via the website:teachersonline.tsc.go.ke.</p>
<p>The application should not be submitted later than the 1st of February ,2022.</p>

<p>4.Applicants who are successful ought to not fill in more than one application for Employment forms otherwise it will result to disqualification.</p>
<p>5.Priority shall be given to candidates who have not been before employed by The TSC.</p>
<p>6.Application that shall be filled manually shall not be allowed.</p>

<p>In the screen displayed, Type in the TSC No, ID number and mobile and choose your selection either primary or secondary by clicking the drop down menu as shown below and click ok.</p>
<p>An SMS from TSC will be sent to your line. Type in the sms code and click ‘OK’</p>
<p>In the displayed, Click on Apply/view. Fill in your details, correctly.</p>
<p>Choose the Ref from the drop down list as shown and fill the other details not auto filled and click ok.</p>
<p>Click the button +click here to apply a school.</p>
<p>Choose the subjects, county, sub county and school and click ok.</p>
<p>The teacher can apply for several vacancies. CLICK OK.</p>
<p>When done, a pop up screen ‘Job Application’ will be displayed. Click on ‘Yes’ to submit your application.</p>
