The founding Headmaster was the late Reverend Fr. Victor Deleidi and was posted from the then St. Cecilia Teachers College (current Mugoiri Girls High school).

In January 1959 he admitted the first batch of 25 boys from various parts of Central Province. Most of these boys came from exclusively Catholic run Primary Schools.

In the early 60’s to mid-70’s the main boys Secondary School in this Southern side of the then Murang’a District Njiiris High School (PCEA – DEB), Githumu High School (AIC) and Gaichanjiru High School (Catholic). The three schools used to hold what used to be called triangular games every year. Most of the teaching staff were of Asian/Goan origin and the first three Headmasters up to 1967 were Catholic Priests.

In 1967 the first African Headmaster the late Mr. John Baptista Wambugu was posted from Nyeri High School. He was the longest serving Headmaster for 16 years from 1967 – 1983.

The school has grown from the initial population of 25 boys to today’s population of about 889 students.  In the last six years, the school has grown from 3 stream school to the current 5 streams.
Since 1959, the school has nurtured thousands of young men who had the privilege of having their secondary school sojourn here. The vast majority of them have gone on to successfully serve the society and God, in different areas and capacities.

Advertisements

A total of fifteen (15) secondary schools in Vihiga county will receive new Principals after the Teachers Service Commission, TSC, effected the December 2019 delocalization exercise for school heads. The handing/ taking over exercise for the administrators is expected to be completed before schools open for first term on January 6, 2020.

Those moved are heads and principals and their deputies serving in their home counties and those who have served in the same station for a long period. Also on the move are new administrators who were appointed after the just concluded interviews .

Teachers with medical conditions have been spared from the ongoing delocalization exercise. Also spared are teachers aged above 56 years and those set to retire.

The Commission kicked off the delocalization exercise in January, 2018. Other massive deployments would then follow in April, August and December of the same year. Though in April, 2019 the Commission slowed down the transfers as only a handful administrators were moved.

How to download 2020/2021 Admission letter to Kenyatta University (KU); 2020 KUCCPS Admission list pdf

Did your KCSE examination and attained the minimum Kenyatta University Entry Grade? Well. Congratulations on this your major achievement. Students joining university are selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KCCPS. The students are selected after doing their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination and getting the minimum University entry requirement. The KCSE students must first apply to KUCCPS to be selected to preferred programmes. The students can apply at school level or apply individually during the first and second revision windows.

Once the applications are closed, KUCCPS then places the KCSE students in preferred courses depending on the student’s score, number of available vacancies against applicants among other selection criteria. In not satisfied with the University that you have been selected to join then you can apply for Inter-Institution Transfer.

The placement body then announces the selection results and students can access the admission lists and download their admission letters.
