KCSE 2022 Results Release is now Live! Tune in to Listen to CS Machogu Releasing KCSE Results

The release of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results for the 2022 candidates is now live! CS Machogu has already presented the 2022 KCSE results to President William Ruto.

The marking of KCSE 2022 results was concluded on January 18, 2023.

30, o00 examiners in 35 marking centers were engaged in this crucial exercise.

Knec CEO appreciated the sacrifice made by the examiners to ensure that the KCSE 2022 results get released today on Friday January 23, 2023.

5 exams were administered in 2022.

Registration of candidates for the 2023 KCSE Examinations will take place from 1st February. The portal will be open between February 1, 2023- March 30, 2023.

KCSE 2022-2023 Results Release Live Coverage 

All mainstream media outlets will have their ears and eyes trained on the live coverage of the KCSE 2022 results release ceremony at the KNEC headquarters dubbed Mtihani House.

The latest KNEC news hitting our newsdesk now shows that the Kenya National Examinations Council CEO has already handed over the KCSE 2022 results to the CS Education Ezekiel Ombaki Machogu.

This being a pertinent national exercise, the CS will troop to State House first to present the results to the newly elected President William Samoei Ruto.

If President Ruto gives a nod, then CS Machogu will proceed to Mtihani House which is located along the Dennis-Pritt road in Nairobi City to address the nation on the following;

  1. Dates when the KCSE 2022 examinations were conducted.
  2. The number of KNEC examination centers used to conduct the KCSE 2022 examinations.
  3. The number of Knec officers deployed to man KCSE examinations.
  4.  The challenges experienced when administering the 2022 KCSE examinations.
  5. The number of KCSE 2022 candidates that gave birth during examinations.
  6. The number of KCSE examiners deployed to mark the KCSE 2022 examinations.
  7. The challenges experienced during the marking of KCSE examinations.
  8. The overall national grade summary and distribution of scores in KCSE 2022 examinations.

6. Shawiza Isaac had 242 marks in KCPE but scored B (Plain) 7. Okoth Cindy Adhiambo had 165 marks in KCPE but scored B – (minus)

8. Najma Mohamed Hassan had 113 marks in KCPE but scored B (Plain)

KCSE Results 2021-2022 for Top 15 Most Improved Schools

Topping the list of KCSE most improved schools during the recently released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE 2021 Results 2022) national examinations, is Kaaga Girls High School with a KCSE performance index of 73.98 up from a KCPE mean of 22.38. The schools registered 37 candidates. In the second position came St Joseph’s Girls- Kitale with a performance index of 71.57 up from a KCPE mean of 21.22. The school registered 71 KCSE candidates.

Kisasi Secondary School clinched the Top 3 KCSE most improved schools in the academic year 2021-2022 after posting an impressive mean score of 68.25 up from a KCPE mean of 20.43 for the 27 candidates four years ago.

Other KCSE Most Improved Schools in 2022 Knec Results encompass Oriwo Boys High School which posted a KCSE mean of 78.72 up from a KCPE performance index of 31.07, St Joseph’s Rapogi Boys High School which posted a KCSE mean of 77.78 up from a KCPE performance index of 31.12, Riokindo High School which posted a KCSE mean of 65.23 up from a KCPE performance index of 18.13, Light Academy High School which posted a KCSE mean of 76.74 up from a KCPE performance index of 30.15, Moi Gesusu High School which posted a KCSE mean of 70.89 up from a KCPE performance index of 27.16, Saye Mixed High School which posted a KCSE mean of 70.09 up from a KCPE performance index of 26.92, St. Edward Nyabioto High School which posted a KCSE mean of 66.73 up from a KCPE performance index of 24.45,  Wobiero High School which posted a KCSE mean of 70.04 up from a KCPE performance index of 28.08, Chuka Boys High School which posted a KCSE mean of 69.24 up from a KCPE performance index of 27.34, Strathmore School which posted a KCSE mean of 69.57 up from a KCPE performance index of 28.37 and Bashra High School which posted a KCSE mean of 63.57 up from a KCPE performance index of 22.56.

KCSE RESULTS- The 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCPSE) exam results have been released.

 

The results are now available, online. Candidates who sat for the exam can check their results using three ways:

2. Using an online KNEC portal

3. Visiting respective school

CHECKING KCSE 2023 RESULTS USING SMS CODE 40054

This is the most effective and fastest way of checking for the results. To get KCSE results 2023 by SMS a candidate is required to send an SMS with your Index Number to 40054.

 

 

The service is available via the three network providers in the country Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom networks. Send the SMS in the Format: IndexNumberKCSE.

 

 

Do not leave a space between Index number and KCSE; Also write KCSE in Capital letters.

 

The cost of each SMS is Sh.25.

 

 

CHECKING KCSE 2023 RESULTS USING KNEC ONLINE PORTAL

To use this method to check 2023 results you only need to remember your index number and access your mobile phone or computer.

 

Here is the procedure:

 

Visit the Official KNEC website (knec.ac.ke)

Check for the KCSE Results tab, click on it

Select the year you sat for the Exams

Enter your Index number.

Finally click the Submit button.

Your KCSE results should show on the screen after a while.

Visiting former secondary School

Finally, candidates can check their KCSE 2023 results by visiting their former schools a day after the official release of the exam.

Release Of Examinations Results

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) wishes to bring the following information to the attention of all institutions presenting candidates for the KNEC examinations:

 

Examination Results Slips and Printouts

Each of the institutions that enter candidates for the KNEC examinations shall receive a hard copy of the institution’s examination results printout and result slips which captures the following information:

 

1. Institution’s Code and Name

This appears on the top left side of the printout. The institution’s code is a unique number by which an examination centre is identified by the Council.

 

This is the number that an institution should always quote whenever communicating with KNEC.

 

2. Candidates Details

 

Below the institution’s name and code are details of the candidates. These details include the index number of the candidate, year of examination, gender, individual subject grades and the mean grade.

 

The important features of the examination results are as indicated below:-

 

X – denotes an absent candidate. A candidate is declared absent if he/she did not sit for one or all papers in the examination. However, for the KCPE examination results, the symbol AB indicates an absence;

Y- denotes that the candidate was involved in an examination irregularity. For the KCSE examination results, the symbol 00 indicates an irregularity;

P- denotes that the candidate’s examination results have been pended due to infringement on the entry requirements for the examination e.g. incorrect KCSE details for entry in KCSE examination;

W- denotes that the candidate’s examination results have been withheld on suspicion that the candidate has been involved in an examination malpractice and investigations are ongoing;

U- denotes ungraded examination results due to infringement of the awards criteria.

Mean Grade Award Descriptions

Mean grade will be X, if a candidate is absent in all subjects

Mean grade will be Y , if one or more subjects are cancelled.

Mean grade will be U, if the entry requirements for the KCSE examination are not met

Mean grade will be CRNM, if the course requirements for the Teacher education, Business and Technical examinations are not met

Mean grade will be P, if results are pended

Mean grade will be W, if the examination results are withheld;

The details of pended, withheld and irregularities are communicated to the institution through the Sub County Director of Education at the time of release of the examination results and are received by the institutions at the same time with the examination results.

 

Release Of Certificates

Once certificates for a specific examination are ready for collection/dispatch from KNEC, the institutions shall be informed through the mass and print media, Sub County Directors of Education and/or the heads of institutions:

 

All certificates for regular candidates are issued through the Heads of Schools/Institutions and to private candidates through the Sub County Directors of Education.

 

The Kenya National Examinations Council reserves the right to withdraw a certificate for amendment or for any other reason should this be necessary.

 

Upon the release of KCSE examinations, the candidates can access their results through SMS number provided during the official release of results.

 

The KCSE candidates are expected to access their result slips through the KNEC website immediately after release of the examination in their respective schools.
