KCSE 2023 RELEASE DATES: DECEMBER 18, 2023 -DECEMBER 22, 2023.

KCSE 2023 MARKING STARTS ON MONDAY

Now that all the KCSE 2023 candidates’ scripts have reaching the designated KCSE 2023 KNEC marking centers, live marking of KCSE 2023 examinations is expected to commence three days after examiners check in at the centers. KCSE English paper three examiners who have been checked in at Precious Blood today for instance will spend the first three days coordinating and internalizing the marking scheme which has already been prepared by the appointed KCSE 2023 chief and assistant chief examiners. Chief examiners and assistant chief examiners usually check in a week earlier so that they can receive candidates’ scripts and start preparing the marking schemes. Team leaders also play a pertinent role in regulating standards to ensure fairness and integrity during the entire marking period. This explains why the KCSE 2023 assistant chief examiners and chief examiners are the first ones to arrive and the last ones to leave the KCSE marking centers.

KCSE 2023 Marking Period

KCSE 2023 examiners will spend approximately 14 days at the marking centers, working under tight supervision to mark all the KCSE 2023 candidates’ scripts.

A total of 831, 015 candidates sat for the KCSE 2023 examinations. The examinations were administered in 10,413 centers between Monday October 23, 2023 and Friday November 24, 2023.  However, practical and oral tests for German, French, Arabic and Kenya sign languages started in February. All TSC appointed principals served as center managers  while TSC employed teachers were deployed as supervisors and invigilators. The KCSE examination centers were reduced by 24 after  schools with 6 to 14 candidates were hosted by other centers identified and mapped out by the respective Sub County Directors of Education. The information on such schools was submitted to KNEC together with the registration materials. Meanwhile, the hosted schools, however, retained their KNEC code during the registration of candidates.
