Click Here to see the new 2022 list of top 100 schools and candidates once the 2021 KCPE Results (2022) are released starting Monday.

With barely three days to go, 2021/2022 KCPE candidates are anxiously awaiting to see how they performed during the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE national tests administered in March 2022.

The Cabinet Secretary in charge of Education Professor George Magoha recently confirmed that the candidates will have to wait longer before receiving their examination results.

As the norm dictates, the CS has no power to release results before they are vetted and endorsed by the President himself.

On Thursday, details arose indicating that the release date had been pushed forward to end of March 2022 to give the President time to squeeze his diary to accommodate this important national event.

Therefore the release of KCPE was not postponed due to incomplete scores but because of the rather tight schedule of the President this week.

Reliable sources confirm that the results are ready and they have already been standardized by a particular margin which varies from one subject to the other.

Marking of KCPE 2021/2022 Examinations

The marking of KCPE 2021-2022 exams commenced almost immediately the exams were over.

KCPE examiners were invited by the council to apply for the deployment as Knec examiners  in 2022.

Successful applicants for Knec Examiners’ posts 2022 reported to their designated marking centres on March 15, 2022. These examiners will still be recalled again come December 2022 or January 2023 to help assess the 2022 KCPE examinations before the school calendar finally takes a complete u turn and normalizes.

Sources privy to this news channel have now shed light on the highly anticipated Knec KCPE results.

KCPE Results 2021-2022 Performance per Subject

According to the 2022 KCPE examiners, some 2021/2022 examination Results have been standardized.

Mathematics was standardized by a margin of 0.85 while Science scores were raised by 0.84.

This means that if a candidate scores 40 ticks in Mathematics, the ticks will be multiplied by 2 multiplied by 0.85 and if the candidate scores 50 ticks, the score will translate to a percentage of 85.

Standardization therefore is the process through which Candidates’ scores are regulated by the Kenya National Examinations Council, Knec, to avoid a scenario where candidates score 100 per cent, a score that will be automatically rejected by  the computer.

The KCPE 2021-2022 Results have therefore been standardized as follows

2021 KCPE Results 2022 Standardization Scores per Subject

Mathematics-85%

Science- 84%

Social Studies/ Religion- 86%

Kiswahili-97%

English-97%
