TSC News Today: As his term comes to a closure, President Uhuru Kenyatta will be remembered and his empathy especially towards Classroom teachers in primary schools will stand the test of time after he tendered good news bordering on pay rise for the afore-mentioned teachers.

According to the President’s estimated recurrent expenditure for the 2021/2022 financial year, primary school teachers who are the lowest earners in the current TSC T-Scales with a basic pay amounting to approximately Kshs 21, 000 per month deserve a salary increment  of Kshs 6000 per month.

However, these teachers should be aware of the fact that this salary increment is inclusive of the 30 per cent tax.

TSC Salary Increment, Rise for Classroom Teachers 

The exact amount of extra money that will be deposited into the accounts of p1 teachers in form of pay increment currently stands at Kshs 4,200 per month after remitting a mandatory tax of 30% of their basic pay amounting to Kshs 1,800 this November.

The extra Kshs 4,200 is apparently meant to appease the teachers who according to members of Parliamentary Education committee are currently dissatisfied with their current monthly salaries.
