Admission of candidates to Kirinyaga University for the degrees, diplomas, certificates or other awards shall be open to all persons without discrimination on race, ethnicity, place of origin, political opinion, color, creed, physical ability or gender.

PART 1 INSTRUCTIONS

“Applicant must read the following requirements and instructions before completing this form”

Application must be made on the official loan form, fully completed and appropriately signed by both the loanee and guarantors in their own handwriting.
The applicant is required to attach the latest original payslip (not more than one month old at the date of application).
Loans are granted in accordance with the loan policy and lending conditions existing at the time of application.
For a member to qualify for loan consideration, he/she must have contributed shares for a minimum period of three months, subject to the policy in force.
Any amount of money deposited by a member, either in cash or by cheque, to boost shares shall wait for six months before that amount can be used to secure a loan.
A member whose share contributions have fallen off the payroll but has continued repaying his/her loan and is in need of a new loan will be required to update his/her shares account by repaying in cash or authorising an offset from the loan of an equivalent amount of the arrears.
Any member who clears his/her loans by cash/cheque must wait for one month before qualifying for loan consideration, subject to the policy in force. A member whose loan is cleared through Front Office Service Activity (FOSA) will qualify for loan consideration immediately under clearance conditions. For members whose loans shall be bridged through FOSA, the loan being processed shall be credited to the FOSA account.
Guarantors, who must be members of the Society, shall not guarantee more than eight major loans (Normal, Development, Super, and Vision).
The type of loan applied for shall be stated with reference to Clause 2.10 on page 2.
The interest rates shall be determined by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Vision loan will attract a processing fee of 1% of the amount approved and recovered up-front
The amount applied for shall be fully covered by the loanees plus guarantor’s shares
Minimum monthly deposits contribution for those with loans shall be determined by the share banding on the amount approved
A dormant member shall not be considered for any loan.
Minimum monthly deposits contribution for members without loans will be Kshs. 1000.00 per month subject to change from time to time.
No member will be allowed to suffer deductions including loan repayment in excess of two thirds of the basic salary.
Members can take a second loan other than emergency/school Fees in addition to an existing loan without necessarily clearing the outstanding loan subject to ability
Loans shall only be paid to member’s FOSA account
If a member decides to cancel his/her loan after the process has been finalised a fee of Kshs. 2,000/= shall be charged.
Any alteration on the loan form may cause disqualification.
You hereby on execution of this form as an applicant explicitly and unambiguously consents to the collection, use and transfer, in electronic or other form, your personal data as described in this document by and among, as applicable, the Sacco and its subsidiaries for the purpose of assessing and processing this loan application and any future product analysis and marketing whether in electronic or other form. In the event of defaulted loans, your contact information, and your defaulted loan, may be shared with your guarantors, your employers, debt collectors, auctioneers, and our legal service providers. This sharing of information is necessary for the purpose of facilitating debt recovery and ensuring the proper management of defaulted loans.

PART I: INSTRUCTIONS

One must be an active member of the Back Office Service Activity (BOSA) whose salary/S.A.Y.E/Pension is passing through his/ her FOSA Account.
The credit must be guaranteed by at least four members of the society whose salary / S . A. Y. E / Pension is passing through their FOSA account.
The rate of interest shall be the one prevailing, charged monthly on reducing balance basis.
The cut-off date of recovery is the 10 of every month.
The due date for interest calculation is 1 of every month.
The credit shall be paid direct to the FOSA account.
The net salary/S.A.Y.E/ Pension must be sufficient to cover monthly credit repayment together with interest.
Irregular and under servicing of credit facility may lead to attachment of guarantors of the facility for recovery.
All other terms and conditions remain as per the current FOSA credit policy

Application Procedures for Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU)

1. How to Apply: Step-by-Step Instructions (Online vs. Manual)
KAFU offers applicants two main application pathways: the quicker online method and the traditional manual submission method.

A. Online Application (Recommended)
This is the preferred and most direct method for submitting your application.

Visit the Portal: Go to the official KAFU admissions platform: https://kafu.jiunge.com/
Sign Up: Create an account on the Jiunge platform by entering your personal details and verifying your email address.
Programme Application: Log in and navigate to the program application section. Select the course you wish to apply for.
Pay Application Fee: Pay the required non-refundable application fee through Jiunge App (see section 4 for application fee) directly through the platform.
Review & Feedback: The application will be reviewed. Check your email for official feedback and next steps from the KAFU Registry department.

B. Manual Application (Download, Print, & Submit)
Applicants may also choose to download the relevant application form, fill it out manually, and submit it physically.

Download Form: Download the appropriate application form from the KAFU website (see section 3).
Complete: Fill out the form completely and accurately.
Attach Documents: Attach certified copies of all necessary academic certificates, national ID/birth certificate, and transcripts.
Pay Fee: Pay the non-refundable application fee via Jiunge app
Submit: Submit the completed form, required documents, and bank deposit slip to the Registrar (Academic Affairs) at Kaimosi Friends University.

2. Application Deadlines/Intakes
KAFU typically conducts admissions for its programs based on the main academic year cycle.
Major Intake: The primary intake for new students (including KUCCPS-placed students) is generally in September (e.g., the beginning of the Academic Year).

This procedure outlines the steps required for all newly admitted Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) students to complete their admissions process and register.

The first phase involves accessing all necessary documents online via the designated portals.

Step 1: Access the Admission Portal or Kafu.Jiunge.com
Navigate to the official KAFU Admission Portal (or the designated Jiunge portal link on the main university website).

Login or Sign Up:

KUCCPS Students: Sign up via Jiunge website
Self-Sponsored: Visit admission portal, type your KCSE Index Number without appending /2025 (e.g., 11111111111). and click on the link to download your letter
Complete Profile: Ensure your bio-data/profile is fully entered and download your letter(This applies for KUCCPS students)

Step 2: Download all Mandatory documents

Complete Mandatory Forms: Fill out all forms printed from the Joining Instructions, including the Students Personal Details Form (KAF/3) and the Consent Form.
Pay Fees: Pay the required first-semester fees. Fees are typically paid Jiunge App
Gather Documents: Assemble all forms and documents, ensuring you have both originals and photocopies.

Phase 2: Physical Registration and Orientation (On Campus)
This phase begins on the official reporting date listed in your Admission Letter/Orientation Programme.

Step 4: Report to Campus and Begin Registration

Arrival: Arrive at KAFU on the specified registration dates (usually the first two days of the programme, e.g., Day 1 & 2: September 1st & 2nd).
Venue: Proceed to the main registration area (often the Assembly Hall or designated halls).

Step 5: Complete the Verification and Data Entry Process

E-Learning: Attend the ICT Directorate session to get your student email and learn how to access the KAFU E-Learning Portal for your course materials.
Matriculation: Attend the formal Matriculation Ceremony (usually the final day of orientation) to officially join the University.
