Individual candidates can check their KCSE results by sending an SMS with their full index number (11digits) followed by the word KCSE. The SMS can be sent from any subscriber’s line (Safaricom, Airtel or any other) to 20076. For example, send the SMS in the format 23467847002KCSE to 20076. There should be no space left between the index number and the word KCSE.

Finally, candidates can visit the school for their results. This is usually a day after the results have been released. KIJABE BOYS HIGH SCHOOL’S BRIEF HISTORY

Kijabe Boys High School was established in 1939 when the Missionaries concerned with literacy began a form of teacher training. In the year 1950 Kijabe became a college for teachers before it was transformed into primary school for boys. In 1962 it was converted into a boarding high school for boys.

In 1957 a boarding primary school for girls was started and later changed into a boarding girl’s high school. In 1964 the girls and boys were amalgamated into one, which grew into a three-streamed school from form one to form six offering science, arts, and technical subjects. In 1987 the school was split into a boy’s high school and a girl’s high school.

Perhaps you have been tarmacking too long after graduating with your Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Education. Maybe your efforts to get employed by the Teachers Service Commission, TSC, have been in vain after attempting several times. And you are at the blink of giving up on the teaching profession. You are not alone my dear friend. There are thousands of graduate teachers out there who find themselves in this precarious situation. I met this graduate teacher, sometimes back, who was so desperate for TSC employment. The teacher was willing to pay the price if only there could be assurance of clinching that elusive TSC job. After many years of attending interviews, in vain, the teacher was so disappointed that all this while there was no chance of getting into the TSC payroll.

Many desperate graduate teachers have fallen prey to conmen and women who promise to deliver TSC employment leeters. But, did you know that you can enhance your chances of getting TSC employment ahead of your competitors? It is so easy. Consider the following and maximize your chances.

TSC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Before you dive into the teaching profession, ensure that you have read and understood the current minimum requirements for one to be certified by TSC. For example, if you are intending to pursue a Bachelors of Education Degree Programme you must have scored a minimum of a C+ in each of the two teaching subjects you wish to teach at high school. This requirement has locked out many graduates. For instance, if want to be a Maths/ Physics Teacher then you must have a minimum of a C+ in each of these two subjects. Again, it is prudent that you choose your teaching subjects carefully.

In short, select the two subjects where you have performed well. This is because in case of a tie during the TSC recruitment interviews, then the panelists will consider the performance of the tying applicants at KCSE. SUBJECT COMBINATION

The subjects you choose to study at the university or college play a significant role in terms of how fast you will be absorbed by TSC. BANDE GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL’S BRIEF HISTORY

The idea of Bande Girls Secondary School was birthed in1975 by Missionary Samuel Ochola who was inspired by Ngiya Girls as she did his Missionary work there. The idea was adopted by the community to address the need of girl-child education in Nyatike Sub-county. Girl-child education was a major challenge in the area that was considered to be a semi-arid area, with a high population of uneducated girl-child facing early pregnancies and early marriages.

The School experienced a lot of instabilities in the early years of its establishment due to frequent changes of school heads. It failed to pick up well and collapsed in 1978, but the vision persistently lingered with the community. In 1984, it was revived and headed by Mr. Ben Sewe Akello up to 1988. In 1989, two teachers who were the first TSC teachers were posted in the school under the new headship of Mr. Okoth Lawrence.

In 1989, Mr. Okinyi Richard took over the headship until 1997. By 1990, Missionary Samuel Ochola of CPK blessed the school officially under the name St. Samuel Ochola Bande Girls Secondary School, but was later registered as Bande Girls Secondary school. The first candidates in 1991 were 7 students who were hosted by Rabwao Mixed as an Exam Centre and performed exceptionally well. All these years the school was not fenced and had less security and poor infrastructure.

In 1997 Mrs. Oruwo took over the headship up to 2000, then Mrs. Mudis up to 2008. These frequent changes in headship further caused instabilities in the school. The school later stabilized in the year 2008 with Mrs. Hellen Otieno as the head. The school has gradually grown from single streamed to three streamed boarding girl-school and promoted from community (Harambee) school to the current status as an Extra-county school as it continued to excel in both Academics and co-curricular activities i.e. Music, Athletics and Netball where the school has been reaching Regional for a long period now.

The academic performance of the school has gradually increased with the best achievement being at a mean of 5.8 in 2013 with 20 students attaining university grades. In 2016 we produced the best student in Migori county who attained grade A-(minus) and is currently pursuing Medicine at JKUAT. Eighteen (18) other students have pursued various career degree courses in various universities. Over the years we have formed a strong base of successful alumni, who have made the school proud in various spectra of life.

In the past, majority of the students admitted into the school were from Migori County, and more specifically from Nyatike and with relatively average entry mark. However, with its elevation to extra-county status it now admits students from all counties across the county.

The greatest achievement came when the school has realized is when it produced the leading girl in Migori County in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education( K.C.S.E) 2016 and won the Migori county Equity Bank Award for the best girl.

Return all the transferred non-local teachers from Garissa over insecurity- TSC asked

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has been asked to revoke the recent transfers of all non-local teachers from Garissa over insecurity. Ijara Constituency Member of Parliament Hon.Sophia Abdi Noor has castigated the Commission for taking unilateral decisions by transferring the teachers and leaving learners from the North Eastern Region unattended.

“I have today (Tuesday February 4, 2020) joined my fellow leaders from,Garissa, Wajir and Mandera to discuss the insecurity in the region and the mass exodus of the teachers from the region initiated by the TSC unilaterally without consulting the leadership and even their agents in the field. Whereas we condemn in the strongest possible terms the inhuman acts of terror we as a country should not have fallen into their traps by transferring all the TSC teachers in the region without replacement and in the process creating an educational crisis. We are strongly asking the TSC to revoke all the transfers immediately,” says Hon Abdi.

This comes after TSC announced the transfers of all non-local teachers from Garissa County over insecurity related issues. The Commission is at the same time processing the transfers of teachers working in Mandera and Wajir counties. The transfers have been occasioned by the constant attacks from the terror group Al-Shabaab. The group has been unleashing terror attacks on the non local teachers since 2018.

But, the Legislator now says the local leaders will work closely with the communities’ members to ensure security of the teachers. “On our part as leaders we will encourage our communities to share timely information and intelligence with our security forces so that we can secure our borders,” She adds.

Angry ijara residents have been staging protests (since Monday) over the mass transfers of the teachers from the area.
“The Ijara residents express their disappointment and dissatisfaction with the Commission and the Government in general. While the residents already suffer greatly in the hands of the outlawed terrorist group, the reactive decisions often made rub salt onto the wound,” Hon Abdi explains.

The MP is said to have allegedly stormed the local TSC office and locked it on Monday.

According to her, Parents are worried that the TSC’s decision to transfer teachers will only worsen the already dire education and security situation as idle children will now be exposed to radicalization. She says the decision will further encourage the terror groups in conducting more heinous attacks as the Government now appears “ weak.”

Teachers who have fled the region have vowed never to go back.

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has released the lists of shortlisted candidates for the advertized 10,300 teacher internship posts for Primary and Secondary Schools. According to the Commission, the lists of shortlisted applicants has been dispatched to all counties. “Applicants are advised that interviews shall be conducted at the county TSC offices. A list of applicants have been sent to each county,” reads a memo dated November 7, 2019 from Catherine Lenairoshi; of TSC Corporate Communications Office. According to instructions on the memo, the shortlisted Candidates are required to carry the following to the interviews; whose dates will be announced in due course:

i. A valid certificate of Good conduct
ii. A valid personal accident cover
iii. National ID card
iv. Disability card if any
v. Two passport size photographs
vi. KCSE certificate
vii. KCPE certificate
viii. Diploma / degree certificate and Transcripts
ix. Primary/secondary or college leaving certificate
x. Kra pin
xi. Bank plate

List of transferred, delocalized Head Teachers in Nyamira County; December 2019

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has effected the December 2019 delocalization exercise for school heads. A total of thirteen (13) head teachers have been moved in Nyamira County. The handing/ taking over exercise for the administrators is expected to be completed before schools open for first term on January 6, 2020.

Those moved are heads and principals and their deputies serving in their home counties and those who have served in the same station for a long period. Also on the move are new administrators who were appointed after the just concluded interviews .

Teachers with medical conditions have been spared from the ongoing delocalization exercise. Also spared are teachers aged above 56 years and those set to retire.

The Commission kicked off the delocalization exercise in January, 2018. Other massive deployments would then follow in April, August and December of the same year. Though in April, 2019 the Commission slowed down the transfers as only a handful administrators were moved.

What you are expected to do.

For you to be invited for the Knec exams marking exercise this is what you will have to do;

Access KNEC Contracted Professionals Website using the link: https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke.
Those with cp2 accounts, login into the Examiners portal using their username and password.
Those without cp2 accounts, click on the reset password button to enter their mobile numbers in the format (2547********) and submit to get their username and password for logging into the system.
Upon successful login, complete their personal information and save. Using the dashboard provided, access, download, print, and read the invitation letters and the Marking Instructions. Further instructions on the acceptance and rejection of marking offers are given in the invitation letter.

How to Download KNEC 2022 KCSE & KCPE Marking Invitation Letter

Getting your marking invitation letter is easy. To download the KNEC marking invitation letters, follow the prompts below:

1. Go to your browser (Google, Chrome, Opera) and type in this address: https://cp.knec.ac.ke or just click on the link.

2. In the new window, press on ‘CLICK HERE TO PROCEED.”

3. Enter your User Name (ID NO.) and PassWord (TSC NO.) and select, ‘Login’.

4. Once logged in, now select: ‘ACCEPT OFFER’. A prompt will be displayed on your screen/ window to show that the offer has been recorded, thus: ‘Your offer acceptance has been saved’.

5. To download your marking invitation letter, click on: ‘DOWNLOAD YOUR LETTER’.

6). You can then print your letter or save it on your local device.

Registration can be done for first-time applicants or existing users.

For first time users

First-time/ new users are the contracted professionals who have never registered in the online contracted professionals’ system. To register online, do the following:

Visit the KNEC contracted professionals’ web: https://cp2.knec.ac.ke and follow the following steps to register in the platform and their submit details.
Use the link/ URL https://cp2.knec.ac.ke/ to access the contracted professional website. You can do so by typing the link on the address bar of any browser (Firefox, internet explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) or by clicking the link. The address directs the user to the login page.
Click the link: Create an account to generate the interface for registering into the contracted professional system.

To create an account

Enter your mobile number e.g. 254722645678
To confirm, enter the same number.
Click the link: Create Account. You will receive the message confirming that the login details (user name and password), as well as the link to access the CP2 system, have been sent to the phone used for creating the account.
Confirm receipt of the login credentials from the phone number used to create the account.
Refer to the user manual for comprehensive guidelines on registration, system access, filling in details, application for a vacancy, and submission of your details.

For existing users

Enter your user name and password. Click the link: Log in to open the contracted professionals’ home page for filling in missing details, updating existing details, applying for a vacancy, and online submission. The interface shown in figure 4 below will be generated.

How to update/ edit details

Click on the link Profile for the display of existing details previously captured in the system for viewing, editing and updating if need be.
Click the specific link to view specific details e.g. Personal Information, Work Experience, and Qualification.
Click the Personal Information link to view the contracted professional biodata. Click the Edit link to enable editing and updating of the profile details displayed.
Click the Work Experience link to view the contracted professional work experience details. Click the Edit link to enable editing and updating of the work experience details displayed.
Click the Qualification link to view the contracted professional academic and professional qualification details. Click the Edit link to enable editing and updating of the qualification details displayed.
For any additional information e.g. new workstation, qualifications, etc., Click the link Add to generate the interface for capturing new details.

New TPAD 2 Lesson Attendance Summary Sheet: Free Form Download

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, expects tutors to teach a minimum of twenty seven (27) lessons per week. This, though, depends on individual school’s Curriculum Based Establishment. Consequently, different teachers plying their trade in various schools have varied numbers of lessons per week. This is also due to variations in staffing at different learning institutions. A teacher (secondary school level) at the same time is expected to teach two subjects; expect those handling subjects like English.

The teachers are appraised under the Career Progression Guidelines (CPG) by using the Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) tool. The Commission has developed a lesson attendance monitoring tool referred to as ‘TPAD Lesson Attendance Summary Sheet’. This form is to be filled weekly by the teacher’s appraiser.

How to create and enter Appraisal Data on the new TPAD 2 Portal for all TSC Teachers

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has created a new Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD 2) portal. The new TPAD will make it easier for teachers to upload their appraisal data in a flawless manner. The Commission has at the same time classified the roles of the teachers, School Heads and Deputy Heads of Institutions. There are three separate portals for the Teachers, Deputy Head and Head of Institution.

ROLES OF THE TEACHERS IN THE NEW TPAD

Each teacher will be expected to do a self appraisal in the various areas, create an appraisal and upload the data online.

ROLES OF THE PRINCIPALS IN THE NEW TPAD

The school Head has been assigned the following roles in the new TPAD:

Ensuring all the teachers have been captured on the Teachers Management Information System, TMIS, and Activating all teachers on TPAD.
Training the New teachers and all teachers on the new TPAD.
Expunging teachers who have left an institution from both TMIS and TPAD.
Overseeing the whole appraisal process at school level.
Appraise the Deputy Head/ Principal at school level. This should be done via scheduled appraisal meetings.
Arbitrate and countersign all appraisal forms for teachers; including that of the Deputy Head.

Whereas the old TPAD had seven (7) areas, the new TPAD tool/ form has five (5) standards/ areas:

HOW TO CREATE A NEW TPAD ACCOUNT

To create a new TPAD account takes a short time and easy. Follow the steps below:

Click on https://tpad2.tsc.go.ke/auth/create_account to access the new account creation portal.
Fill in the fields shown
TSC Number

ID Number

Phone Number (07xxxxxxxx)

Email Address

Password

Confirm Password

Mode of Notification
Click on ‘Create’ Once done.
A success message is shown and you will receive SMS token on your phone within a short time.
Enter the Code received via SMS and click on ‘Verify Token’. This completes the registration process.

Adding your Bio Data.

Next, you need to add your level of Education and subject combination details.

Add your information: Bio/ Institution Information, Contact Information.
Select ‘Subjects Combination’ and add your teaching subjects. Select your subjects combinations from the list and click on ‘Submit’ when done.
Then, click on ‘Level of Education’ to add details. Select your KCSE grade, Highest level of Education and Institution of Study. Next, click on Submit.

Proceeding to Login and Filing Appraisal data

Click on the tab ‘Proceed to Login’; highlighted in green
Enter your TSC Number, ID Number, Password and click on the verification box at the bottom. Then, click on Log in to access the Teacher’s Portal Dashboard.
Click on ‘Start Appraisal’. Next, click on ‘Create New Appraisal’. The default year is 2019 and term three for the term.
Select Eligibility and click on ‘Save Appraisal’. A success message will be displayed on your screen.

TEACHERS’ PORTAL

The Teachers’ portal/ Dashboard contains:

Self Appraisal with sections; Lesson Observation and Self Assessment.
Teacher Professional Development.

To carry-out Self Appraisal;

Click on Self Assessment
Followed by Create New Appraisal.
Enter Appraisal Details: Year, Term.
Click on ‘Save Appraisal’ then ‘Close’.

THE DEPUTY HEAD’S PORTAL

This portal contains such details as:

Self Appraisal; Lesson Observation, Self Assessment
Appraiser Appraisals; Pending Appraisals, Scheduled Appraisal Meetings, Weekly Lesson Observation..

Are you wondering how you can receive and download your 2020 KCSE results easily? This article provides a guide on how to receive and download the 2020 KCSE exam results. The 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, exam was administered by the Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC. The 2020 KCSE Exams were conducted between Friday March 26, 2021 and Wednesday April 21, 2021.

Once done, KNEC invites examiners who go through the students work; to ensure the results are ready for release.

2020 KCSE Results Analysis and Release

After marking is done, the next step is to collate and analyze the students’ scores. Once computation is over, the results are presented to the Education Cabinet Secretary who first briefs the President before releasing the results to the public in a televised event.

Checking Your 2020 KCSE Results

Candidates who sat for the 2020 KCSE exam can check their results using three ways. This can only be possible once results have been announced by the Education Cabinet secretary:

Using KNEC SMS code 20076
Using an online KNEC portal
Visiting respective school

CHECKING KCSE 2020 RESULTS USING SMS CODE 20076

This is the most effective and fastest way of checking for the results. To get KCSE results 2020 by SMS a candidate is required to send an SMS with your full Index Number to 20076. The service is viable for all the three network providers in the country Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom networks.

Access the 2020 KCSE results via SMS by sending the full index number (11digits) of the candidate followed by KCSE to 20076. For example 23467847002KCSE then send to 20076. After the full index number no spacing between the last number and the initials KCSE.

The cost of each SMS is Sh.25.

NB: Candidates must wait for official release of the results before sending an SMS.

CHECKING KCSE 2020 RESULTS USING THE KNEC ONLINE PORTAL

Schools can access and download the results for all candidates via the KNEC online portal.

Here is the procedure:

Visit the Official KNEC website; https://www.knec-portal.ac.ke/
Then, click on Online results. You will be prompted to enter the user name and password. This credentials are similar to those used during registration of candidates.
The results for the whole centre would be shown on the screen.
Select the format that you wish to transfer the results to for downloading and printing.

Finally, candidates can check their KCSE 2020 results by visiting their former schools a day after the official release of the exam.

Important Notes on Release Of Examinations Results

It is important to note the following concerning the KCSE results released by KNEC;

Examination Results Slips and Printouts

Each of the institutions that enter candidates for the KNEC examinations shall receive a hard copy of the institution’s examination results printout and result slips which captures the following information:

Institution’s Code and Name

This appears on the top left side of the printout. The institution’s code is a unique number by which an examination centre is identified by the Council. This is the number that an institution should always quote whenever communicating with KNEC.

Candidates Details

Below the institution’s name and code are details of the candidates. These details include the index number of the candidate, year of examination, gender, individual subject grades and the mean grade.

WHAT THE VARIOUS SYMBOLS ON YOUR RESULTS DENOTE

The important features of the examination results are as indicated below:-

X – denotes an absent candidate. A candidate is declared absent if he/she did not sit for one or all papers in the examination. However, for the KCPE examination results, the symbol AB indicates an absence;
Y- denotes that the candidate was involved in an examination irregularity. For the KCPE examination results, the symbol 00 indicates an irregularity;
P- denotes that the candidate’s examination results have been pended due to infringement on the entry requirements for the examination e.g. incorrect KCPE details for entry in KCSE examination;
W- denotes that the candidate’s examination results have been withheld on suspicion that the candidate has been involved in an examination malpractice and investigations are ongoing;
U- denotes ungraded examination results due to infringement of the awards criteria.

Mean Grade Award Descriptions

Mean grade will be X, if a candidate is absent in all subjects
Mean grade will be Y, if one or more subjects are cancelled.
Mean grade will be U, if the entry requirements for the KCSE examination are not met
Mean grade will be CRNM, if the course requirements for the Teacher education, Business and Technical examinations are not met
Mean grade will be P, if results are pended
Mean grade will be W, if the examination results are withheld;

The details of pended, withheld and irregularities are communicated to the institution through the Sub County Director of Education at the time of release of the examination results and are received by the institutions at the same time with the examination results.

Release Of Certificates

Once certificates for a specific examination are ready for collection/dispatch from KNEC, the institutions shall be informed through the mass and print media, Sub County Directors of Education and/or the heads of institutions.

All certificates for regular candidates are issued through the Heads of Schools/Institutions and to private candidates through the Sub County Directors of Education.
The Kenya National Examinations Council reserves the right to withdraw a certificate for amendment or for any other reason should this be necessary.
Upon the release of KCPE and KCSE examinations, the candidates can access their results through SMS number provided during the official release of results. The KCPE candidates are expected to access their result slips through the KNEC website immediately after release of the examination in their respective schools.

The payslip is an important document that enables you to see the exact amount of monthly salary. Wondering how you can register, login and download your TSC payslip online? HOW TO REGISTER FOR YOUR TSC PAYSLIP.

Registration for the TSC payslips is no longer available, online. For you to register for the Payslip service kindly visit your nearest TSC county office. Remember to carry your original National ID Card, for identification purposes.

YOUR TSC PASSWORD AND LOGIN INTO THE PAYSLIP PORTAL

Once registered, you can proceed to log into your account. You will need a password. You will get your first time password once you register.

Proceed to log in by visiting the T-pay portal; https://payslip.tsc.go.ke/login.php

Enter your TSC Number and Password, then click Login. The Password must be at least 6 characters (Letters & Numbers)

Once logged in, you can perform the following operations:

View your third party transactions and
Change your Payslips password.

HOW TO FIND A SPECIFIC PAYSLIP.

On log in you can view your payslips by clicking the ‘view payslips’ tab. This will display your most recent payslip.

To view other payslips, click ‘select year’ then choose from the list. Next you will need to select the month. Finally, click ‘view payslips’. This process will display the specified payslip.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR PAYSLIP.

Once your payslip is displayed, you may need to keep a copy of it. This can be achieved by taking a screenshot of the payslip. Similarly, click the ‘Print’ tab at the bottom of your payslip.
