Following the maiden meeting between TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia and the newly-elect deputy president Rigathi Gachagua popularly referred to as Riggy G, the plan by TSC to absorb more teachers either on permanent and pensionable terms or on internship terms has received a nod.

On Tuesday, all ears were trained on the Kenya Kwanza Government to gauge its commitment towards boosting education by employing more teachers.

Consequently, TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia arrived in grandeur in the company of MoE’s Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang.

Details of what was discussed during the meeting have now emanated indicating that the Kenya Kwanza government has committed to back up the Teachers Service Commission in its noble plan of employing 30,000 teachers starting January 2023.

TSC CEO also reiterated this during the celebrations of World Teachers’ Day held at the Kenya School of Government based in Nairobi saying that teachers should henceforth look forward to better and brighter days.

“The well-being of students, as well as teachers, is a key focus for the Kenya Kwanza Government. Today, the Education Ministry PS Dr. B. Kipsang, and a team from the TSC led by CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia paid me a courtesy call to my office; We discussed various matters to do with Education including teachers’ recruitment.” Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s statement at the meeting.

DEPUTY PRESIDENT RIGATHI GACHAGUA FORGES FOR SERIOUS REFORMS AT TSC TO RESTORE THE DIGNITY OF TEACHERS

1. Rigathi Gachagua has demanded that all teachers delocalized against their will be re_routed back to their home regions.

2. Rigathi has ordered Nancy MACHARIA to set in motion plans to recruit over 58,000 teachers by January next year.

3. Riggy G wants that Tsc Led by Nancy MACHARIA obeys all Court orders that were awarded in favor of teachers in Kenya.

THIS IS HOW TSC WILL RECRUIT TEACHERS DURING THE REIGN OF THE KENYA KWANZA GOVERNMENT

The selection panel shall vet each applicant to verify that: 

(i) He/she meets the requirements of the TSC advertisement;
(ii) All submitted original academic and professional certificates, as well as official transcripts are authentic.
(iii) The proof of application for confirmation of results from KNEC has been availed where the certificates are missing.

NB: The onus is on the concerned applicant to follow up with KNEC for the confirmation of results within fourteen (14) days after the interview date.
(iv) Where results have been confirmed, the original statement of confirmation of results MUST be submitted together with the Application for Employment Form.

(c) The Secretary, Board of Management shall certify photocopies of the original certificates and confirm to the Sub-County Director that they are true copies of the candidate’s original certificates.
(d) Once the interview process is completed, the results must be communicated to all applicants on the same day. The successful applicant(s) shall be issued with the TSC Application for Employment Form (s).

The Teachers Service Commission is declaring soon declaring 5, 000 vacancies to fill the huge learning gaps in both secondary and primary Schools. The 5000 posts will therefore be spread across several primary schools and secondary schools in Kenya.

The teachers likely to be recruited in July 2022 will count themselves lucky since they will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.

 

Eligibility/ Selection: TSC Renews Recruitment Requirements for Permanent and Pensionable Employment of Teachers 2022-2023

The Teachers Service Commission has at the same time revised recruitment requirements for teachers on permanent and pensionable terms.

Since 2019, any teacher wishing to bag advertised teaching slots in both primary and secondary schools must serve on contractual terms technically referred to as TSC Internship that are renewable annually first before proceeding to seek for permanent and pensionable recruitment.

To qualify for 2022-2023 TSC recruitment, a candidate should also meet the following basic requirements:

 

i) Be a Kenyan citizen;

ii) Must be a holder of a P1 certificate in the case of primary schools and a minimum

of a diploma in education in the case of secondary schools;

iii) Must be a registered teacher with Teachers Service Commission.

 

 

 

How to apply for TSC Recruitment 2022-2023

Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than the stated deadline.

TSC Recruitment Vacancies per County/School

Specific information on available vacancies per county/or schools is in the Commission’s website: www.tsc.go.ke.

Please note that:

i) The Teachers Service Commission Recruitment Guidelines 2021/2022 FY shall apply.

ii) Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

iii) In the case of primary schools, successful candidates will be posted to serve in any part of the country where vacancies exist and not necessarily in the county where they were recruited.

iv) Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original professional and academic certificates;

v) Successful candidates must not fill more than one Application for Employment Forms.

 

vi)Filling of two or more Application for Employment Forms will lead to disqualification;

 

vi)Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously been employed by the Teachers Service Commission;

vii) Manually filled applications will not be accepted.
