The Teachers Service Commission, TSC has promoted 1, 000 primary school teachers to work in secondary schools.
this is a reprieve for the 1, 000 teachers who attained higher qualifications but were still stuck at the primary level.
According to the dispatched TSC promotion letters, the 1, 000 P1 teachers were successfully promoted to a new grade- Secondary School Teacher II (T- Scale 7).

At least a C+ Plus in KCSE or its equivalent and a C+ Plus and above in the two main teaching subjects
Be TSC employed

CURRENT TSC SALARY AND ALLOWANCES FOR PI TEACHERS DEPLOYED TO HIGH/ SECONDARY SCHOOLS
With the promotion of these PI TSC teachers to new grades (Grade C2) comes a salary increment. These newly promoted teachers will now earn between Kshs 34, 9995 and Kshs 43, 694 per month.
