The school also takes pride after recording a postive deviation of 0.13.</p>
<p>Nyakongo High School was trailed by Nyanchonori Secondary School with 4.926. Clinching the tlist of top three KCSE best performing secondary schools in Nyamira county is St. Cyprian Biticha Secondary School.</p>

<p><strong>List of 2024 Knec selected Centre Invigilators and Supervisors</strong></p>
<p>The Council has at the same time posted the list of selected invigilators and Supervisor (s) for particular Centres/ schools on the school’s account in the portal.</p>
<p>Centre managers; school heads and Principals, can now be able to log onto the portal and check the list. The list contains the names of the contracted professionals, positions ( Centre Manager, Supervisor or Invigilator) Gender and National Identity Card (ID) number.</p>
<p>Also available on the portal are: Examination Centre details (Centre code and name), Location of centre , Examination materials Distribution Centre Details, Distance from the Distribution Centre and the registered number of Candidates.</p>

<p>How to access the list of Knec contracted professionals:</p>
<p>Log onto the KNEC contracted portal by using the official address; https://cp2.knec.ac.ke<br />
Enter the User Name (Starting with KCSECentre code) and password (Specific to each centre and held by the centre manager).<br />
Next, input the approximate distance between the centre/ school and exam distribution centre.<br />

In an event you forgot your password, it is easy to get a new one. Just click on forgot password, enter your mobile phone number in the format 2547… and click on ‘Reset Password’.</p>

<p>Consequently, the Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, requires the 2024 Contracted Professionals to update their data on the KNEC cp2 portal.</p>
<p>The council has deployed Supervisors, Invigilators and Centre managers who will be in charge of this year’s Kenya Certificate of the Secondary Education, KCSE, and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, exams.</p>
<p>The Principal or head teacher (Centre Manager) will then mark the attendance register online, for all the contracted officers.</p>
<p>How to update data online, by Knec 2024 contracted professionals:<br />
Visit the KNEC contracted professionals’ portal by using the address/ URL; https://cp2.knec.ac.ke<br />
For a new user, click on ‘CREATE ACCOUNT’ tab.<br />
Then, enter your mobile phone number in the format 2547….., confirm the mobile phone number (by re-entering it) and click on ‘CREATE ACCOUNT’.<br />
You will receive a successful account creation message on your window.<br />
Your User Name and Password will be sent to the Phone number that you registered with.<br />
Now log into the Portal by entering your User Name (which is in the format) 2547….. and your secret password. Enter them into the contracted professionals home page at https://cp2.knec.ac.ke and click on ‘LOG IN’.<br />
Once logged in, Provide your personal and other required information like: Full name, Year of Birth, Gender, National ID Number, KRA PIN Number, Email, Highest Qualification, Current Work Station and Next of Kin Details. Then click on ‘SAVE’.<br />

<p>How to Mark the Attendance Register for 2024 Knec Contracted Professionals:<br />
The contracted professionals’ attendance register is marked by the Centre Manager on a daily basis during the examination period. This shall be carried out by the Centre Manager. To mark the register:</p>
<p>Visit the KNEC contracted professionals’ portal by using the address https://cp2.knec.ac.ke<br />
To log in, Type the User name and password, as provided by the Sub County Director. These log in credentials are for the examination centre and not those of the Centre manager.<br />
Once logged in, mark the daily attendance for the Supervisor, Invigilator, Security personnel and the centre manager. The attendance register is marked on a daily basis during the exam administration period for the centre.<br />
For the 2024 KCSE examination, the register will be marked in November.<br />
Mark the register online by indicating P (present) and Ab (for absent).<br />
At the end of the exam administration period, the centre manager will then download the attendance register, countersign it and submit it to the Sub County Director.<br />
It is important to note that any Knec contracted professional whose attendance is not marked online may miss his/her pay.</p>

On the flipside, it should go on record that the KCSE marking national exercise can be a heart-wrenching and harrowing experience especially for expectant female teachers or teachers with chronic illnesses. Those with high blood pressure are advised to shun this exercise since it calls for extreme physical, mental and psychological well being besides being fit as a fiddle.</p>

According to the newly released KCSE Examiners payment rates per day, the <strong>least-paid KCSE 2024/2025 <a href="https://newspro.co.ke/category/knec-news/">KNEC </a>Examiner</strong> will pocket Kshs. 2,000 per day while the <strong>highest paid</strong> will walk home with an average of Kshs. 3, 000 per day. The average pay for most KCSE examiners ranges between Kshs 24,000 to Kshs 40,000. Take note of the fact that the <strong><span style="color: #000000;">KNEC pay for KCSE 2024/2025 examiners entails a wholesome perk that encompasses travel expenses and a coordination fee of Kshs. 150 per day. </span></strong><span style="color: #000000;">Consequently, KNEC cannot pay a similar amount for all the KCSE 2024/2025 examiners.</span></p>

<p>According to the guidelines from KNEC the cp2 portal site shall be accessible as follows:</p>

<p>those with cp2 accounts and passwords, log in to the Examiners portal using your username and password;</p>
<p>those without passwords, click on the reset password button to enter your mobile number in the format (2547********) and submit to get your username and password for logging into the system;</p>
<p>upon successful login, complete your personal information and save it. Using the dashboard provided access, read, accept or reject the invitation letter provided. After one accepts the offer letter, download and print the invitation letter.</p>

<p>The 2024KCSE Knec examiners will be competitively selected from all 8 regions and the 47 counties in Kenya.</p>
<p>Qualified teachers are expected to apply for the available 42, 000 slots for KCSE examiners this year before the given deadline via the https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke/</p>
<p>The 2024-2025 KNEC Examiners vacancies will be competitively filled this year and only teachers who meet the minimum qualifications below will be granted access to apply.</p>
<p>KNEC examiners vacancies 2024-2025 selection criteria/ legibility</p>
<p>Reporting Dates for 2024 KCSE Examiners marking the 2024 KCSE</p>
<p>Any teacher applying for the 2024 KNEC Examiners Vacancies for KCSE marking must</p>
<p>Be a Kenyan Citizen</p>
<p>Possess a valid national identification card.</p>
<p>Be TSC Registered</p>
<p>Not be on TSC interdiction for any indiscipline cases</p>
<p>Possess a valid KNEC registration Certificate for all examiners who have completed the KNEC training modules for all examiners.</p>
<p>Kindly note that only invited examiners only will be allowed to access the marking centers on the reporting dates indicated on the invitation letters.</p>
<p>Examiners who will not be able to access the examiners’ portal and download their invitation letters are therefore advised to keep off the marking venues since trying to access the marking centers is an errand of futility.</p>
<p>KNEC invites and selects examiners based on their performance during KNEC training. The top performers are given opportunities first since they are likely to deliver more credible results.</p>
<p>REPORTING DATES AND TIMING FOR 2024 KNEC EXAMINERS</p>
<p>Given the throat-cutting competition for the limited Knec examiners’ vacancies, invited KCSE examiners are therefore advised to strictly adhere to the timelines indicated on the KNEC Examiners’ invitation letters 2024.</p>
<p>The official reporting time is 2:00 P.M. for all KNEC examiners. Kindly note that the reporting dates differ from one KCSE script to the other since the papers have got different demands.</p>
<p>More demanding KCSE papers like English paper 3 Eng 101/3 require more time while marking since examiners have to peruse through at least three compositions per candidate. These examiners therefore will report to their designated marking centers a few days after the candidates sit for their last KCSE examination paper.</p>
<p>Examiners who fail to turn up on the official reporting date and time indicated in the invitation letter will be disqualified.</p>

<p>Now that normalcy has returned in 100% of Kenyan schools-both primary and secondary following the calling off of the go-slow occasioned by TSC&#8217;s failure to honor its part of the bargain, the<a href="https://newspro.co.ke/category/knec-news/"><strong> Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC</strong></a>, has oiled its elbows to deliver credible KCSE and KPSEA 2024 national examinations.</p>
<p>In its quest for excellence in as far as the administration of this year&#8217;s national examinations is concerned, the Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, has announced thousands of slots that are up for grabs targeting both primary and secondary school teachers willing to serve as invigilators, supervisors and center managers in the year 2024.</p>
<p> ;</p>
<p>Kindly note that the afore-mentioned slots attract a stipend besides giving currently employed TSC teachers an edge when it comes to promotions as follows:</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">KCSE supervisors earn Sh2,485 while invigilators take home Sh1,615. Security officers are paid Sh1,050 while drivers earn Sh1,040.28, 408 KCSE center managers are paid Sh2, 000 per day for 18 days, translating to sh36,000.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">Supervisors earn Sh2,485 for the same number of days, translating to Sh44,750 each. 74,990 invigilators earn Sh1, 615 per day for 17 days, translating to Sh24,450 each. Secondary school principals take home a flat rate of Sh500 for 18 days, translating to Sh9, 000.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff00ff;">Interested and qualified teachers are also advised to tune their ears on the 2024 KNEC Advertisement for Examiners.</span></strong></p>
<p class="paragraph-style">KNEC currently pays between Sh48 and Sh77 per script.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">Those marking English papers are paid at a rate of between Sh57 and Sh77 per script, while those marking Kiswahili papers are paid between Sh57 and Sh69. The same rate applies for those marking mathematics papers. Teachers charge between Sh50 and Sh52 to mark Chemistry papers, same as Biology and Physics.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">KNEC has to part with between Sh52 and Sh55 to have History papers marked, Geography papers are rated at between Sh52 and Sh54 per script. Business Studies and Agriculture are rated at Sh52. KUPPET, however, says Agriculture paper 3, which is marked at school level, is never paid for. About 30,000 teachers marked KCSE papers last year.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff00ff;"><strong>Delayed KNEC Payment for Invigilators, Supervisors, Examiners, and Center Managers </strong></span></h2>
<p class="paragraph-style">The delayed payment is contrary to the demands of the parliamentary education and research committee last year that had summoned former CS Education to appear and answer questions about KNEC contracts and payments.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">This comes as the teachers unions are sometimes forced to put pressure on the council to honor their obligation to pay the teachers saying they are breaching the contract they signed with the tutors.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) national chairman Omboko Milemba gave the council two weeks ultimatum to ensure the 50,000 tutors were paid their dues last year.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">&#8221;We have given the examination council two weeks to settle the bills or face the teachers&#8217; wrath. If the bills are not settled by the end of March, KUPPET will mobilize the examiners to occupy the KNEC office,&#8221; Milemba said.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">The union leader scoffed at the government for subjecting teachers to work under unfavorable conditions and at the same time retain their money after completing their contract.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">&#8221;Fair labor practices demand that workers who render their services should be paid commensurate with the work done and on time. The teachers performed their part of the agreement successfully, yet all they get in return is neglect,&#8221; he stated.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">In December last year, markers of CRE paper II downed their tools in protest of poor working conditions and low pay.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">&#8221;The work itself is characterized by poor conditions including long hours, poor accommodation in students&#8217; dormitories, poor diets and above all, low pay,&#8221; Milemba stated.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">Teachers have demanded that the examinations agency raise marking fees for each script to Sh100, according to new proposals by their union.</p>
<p class="paragraph-style">The teachers also want the venue for marking all KCSE examination papers and KCPE English composition as well as Kiswahili Insha be moved to university campuses or other high level government institutions.</p>

KCSE 2024 Top 100 Schools List Flagged

<p>The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) scrapped the ranking of schools. Although the official list of <strong>KCSE 2024 top 100 schools </strong>is no longer available on the official Knec portal, dedicated websites and mainstream media houses usually go the extra mile by reaching out to school principals who gladly provide official KCSE mean scores that enable them to draw comparisons and come up with top- performing schools. Although the list may not be comprehensive, the mean scores presented are correct!</p>
<p>According to The Daily Nation for instance, Moi High School Kabarak in Nakuru County topped the list of top performers in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education after posting an impressive mean score of 10.43 in the KCSE results released this year.</p>
<p>The results were released by the CS Education on Monday at Moi Girls Eldoret national school in Uasin Gishu County.</p>
<p>Most top 100 slots in the KCSE 2024 top 100 schools were however dominated by public national and extra county schools.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff00ff;">The official KCSE 2024 distribution of grades for Moi High School Kabarak is as follows:</span> A=62, A-=155,</strong> <strong>B+=102, B=60, B-=18, C+=4. </strong>The school achieved a great milestone after the whole class met the threshold for direct transition to university via KUCCPS.</p>
<p>Mudasa Academy also proved its worth after attaining a mean of 10.4 while Kapsabet Boys came third with 10.2.</p>

<p>Outgoing CS Education Ezekiel Machogu directed the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) to review and adjust the university cluster subjects that determine which course a student qualifies to pursue based on their subject performance.</p>

<p>This new directive opened a new window of opportunities for thousands of students who took the 2023 KCSE examinations for they now have a shot at prestigious university courses that were out of reach for their predecessors.</p>
<p>The directive is part of changes in the grading of candidates adopted in September following recommendations by the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms.</p>
<p>“This is as a result of the application of a new grading system that reduced the number of compulsory subjects required to compute the mean grade,” said the CS at the Moi Girls School, Eldoret, during the release of the 2023 KCSE examination results.</p>
<p>“The new reform measure will allow a larger number of students to pursue courses of their choice at the universities, diploma and TVET training at certificate and artisan levels.”</p>
<p>The CS also instructed KUCCPS to conduct awareness and career guidance exercises for last year&#8217;s candidates, particularly on the new clusters and funding model.</p>

According to the newly released KCSE Examiners payment rates per day, the <strong>least-paid KCSE 2023/2024 <a href="https://newspro.co.ke/category/knec-news/">KNEC </a>Examiner</strong> will pocket Kshs. 2,000 per day while the <strong>highest paid</strong> will walk home with an average of Kshs. 3, 000 per day. The average pay for most KCSE examiners ranges between Kshs 24,000 to Kshs 40,000. Take note of the fact that the <strong><span style="color: #000000;">KNEC pay for KCSE 2023 examiners entails a wholesome perk that encompasses travel expenses and a coordination fee of Kshs. 150 per day. </span></strong><span style="color: #000000;">Consequently, KNEC cannot pay a similar amount for all the KCSE 2023 examiners.</span></p>

<p><strong>Instructions to Schools </strong></p>
<p><em>Each school presenting candidates for Agriculture (443) in the KCSE examination for the year 2024 will produce adequate copies of this document. One copy of the document will be for the Head teacher and the others for the teacher in charge of Agriculture project hereafter referred to as the Agriculture teacher and the candidates. </em></p>
<p><em>The Head teacher and the Agriculture teacher should each read the document carefully. Relevant information should then be conveyed to the candidates as soon as possible to enable them to carry out the project in good time. </em></p>

<p><em>The Agriculture Teacher will mark all candidates’ projects. </em></p>
<p><em>The projects should be accessible to authorised KNEC monitoring agent(s). </em></p>
<p><strong>GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS </strong></p>
<p>1. The School Principal should download the instructions for the 2024 KCSE Agriculture Project and together with the teacher of Agriculture read the instructions to understand the requirements and implementation procedures. Each candidate should also be provided with a copy of these instructions and the scoring guides.</p>
<p>2. The 2024 KCSE Agriculture Project will be based on <strong>income generation </strong>under the following sub-themes:</p>
<p><strong>a) Planting and care for trees </strong></p>
<p><em>(at least 100 trees planted and managed per group. Select tree species of your choice and avoid shrubs) </em></p>
<p><strong>b) Growing a cereal crop </strong></p>
<p><em>(at least 100 plants under irrigation per group. Select a crop species and variety of your choice) </em></p>
<p><strong>c) Goat rearing </strong></p>
<p><em>(at least one goat per group. Select a breed of your choice) </em></p>
<p><strong>d) Rabbit rearing </strong></p>
<p><em>(at least two rabbits per group. Select a breed of your choice) </em></p>
<p>3. Individually, candidates should analyse the school community (within the school and/or around the school) and identify the most pressing problem or issue they can help address using any one of the above projects. Each candidate should prepare and make a presentation of their choice to the class. The presentation should demonstrate how the project will generate income and the amount expected. The presentation should be video recorded by one of the candidates and when it is his/her turn to present, another candidate should take over and record the video. The video recording of the presentation should be maintained in the candidate’s project portfolio as evidence. <strong><em>(The video recording can be done using a video recorder, smart phone, or digital camera. The use of these digital devices should be guided or supervised. Digital devices can be borrowed from public primary schools in the neighbourhood.) </em></strong></p>
<p>4. In groups of up to five members, the candidates should discuss the issues or problems they identified and choose the most pressing one to be addressed by their group. The group members should then use their own observations, books, newspapers, magazines, radio, television, guided internet, opinion of teachers, school administration, school workers, elders and experts in the community to <strong>search for information and prepare a write up for the project selected by the group</strong>. The write up should contain the following:</p>
<p>a) appropriate title</p>
<p>b) introduction</p>
<p>c) identification of the issue/problem and project to address it</p>
<p>d) project objectives</p>
<p>e) project description</p>
<p>f) project implementation procedures</p>
<p>g) budget</p>
<p>h) project implementation plan and timelines</p>
<p>i) evaluation</p>
<p>j) conclusion</p>
<p>k) project team</p>
<p><strong><em>5. </em></strong>Group members should then jointly make a presentation to the school community on how the group will implement the project selected to address the issue identified. The school community should then brainstorm the problems or issues presented by the groups and select one for implementation. The group presentations to the school community should be video recorded and maintained in the portfolio as evidence. <strong><em>(The school should organize a session for the groups to present to the school community). </em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>NOTE</em></strong><em>: The 1</em><em><sup>st </sup></em><em>presentations and the 1</em><em><sup>st </sup></em><em>draft of the project write up should be completed by the end of Milestone I. </em></p>
<p>6. The final presentations and project write up should be completed by the end of Milestone II. The final presentations will be done jointly by the group members to reflect on the following a) Experiences during project implementation</p>
<p>b) What worked well</p>
<p>c) How they benefited from the project</p>
<p>d) What they will do differently in future projects.</p>
<p>7. In their groups, candidates together with the other members of the school community as volunteers should implement the selected project to address the problem or issue identified.</p>
<p><strong><em>NOTE</em></strong><em>: Project implementation (actual tree planting/crop production/livestock rearing should start by the end of February 2024. </em></p>
<p>8. Each group’s project should be identified by a poster showing the group number, group members and their index numbers.</p>
<p>9. Each group is required to maintain a collection of evidence of performance on the specified milestones at different stages of project implementation. The pieces of evidence should be maintained in the portfolio.</p>
<p>10. The candidates will be assessed on the following:</p>
<p>a) Maintaining portfolio of evidence</p>
<p>b) Listening to others</p>
<p>c) Speaking and oral presentation</p>
<p>d) Project write up.</p>
<p>e) Collaboration with others</p>
<p>f) Implementation of the project selected</p>
<p>11. The school should provide adequate security for the candidates’ project. 12. The project chosen by the school community must be seen and treated as an examination. The scores awarded by the agriculture teacher must be objective and remain confidential. 13. The agriculture teacher should assess each candidate’s project from time to time using the marking scheme and timelines provided by KNEC and enter the marks in the individual candidate project assessment sheets. It is <strong>important </strong>that the marks are entered in the project assessment sheets <strong>immediately </strong>after each assessment.</p>
<p>14. The score awarded to the group should be transferred to each member of the group. 15. All the project assessment sheets must be kept under lock and key in the School Principal’s office in a sealed envelope. They should be made available <strong>only </strong>to the agriculture teacher whenever the teacher is going to assess the project or an authorized KNEC agent. The sheets must be returned to the School Principal immediately after each assessment.</p>
<p>16. The School Principal should check to ensure that scores are recorded in the assessment sheets after every assessment. In the absence of the School Principal, the Deputy School Principal should be in custody of the documents.</p>
<p>17. The candidate scores on the project, together with pictorial evidence of the entire school project status will be electronically submitted to KNEC twice. Milestone I by <strong>31st March</strong><strong> </strong><strong>2024 </strong>and milestone II <strong>by 31st July 2024</strong>.</p>
<p>18. The agriculture teacher should transfer the total score of each candidate from the assessment sheet to the Manual Mark Sheet. The scores, together with a photograph showing the project status for the entire class at the time the last assessment was done should be uploaded on the KNEC Portal. The photograph should be in .<strong>gif </strong>or .<strong>jpeg </strong>format. It should capture the school Principal, Agriculture teacher and candidates standing at their respective projects in full school uniform. This should be done following the timelines provided.</p>
<p>19. The index numbers of candidates should be entered in assessment sheets and manual mark sheets in ascending order ensuring that all candidates <strong>have the same Index </strong><strong> </strong><strong>Numbers as in the final examination.</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>20. The KNEC Portal will only be accessible for the uploading of scores from <strong>1</strong><strong><sup>st </sup></strong><strong>to 31</strong><strong><sup>st</sup></strong><strong> </strong><strong>March 2024 </strong>for milestone I and <strong>1st to 31st July 2024 </strong>for milestone II. The scores once uploaded cannot be accessed for alteration.</p>
<p>21. The Agriculture Teacher should write a brief report about the centre using the centre report form provided by KNEC.</p>
<p>22. <strong>The project implementation and assessment should be completed by the end of July</strong><strong> </strong><strong>2024.</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>23. At the end of the project, the School Principal <strong>must </strong>ensure that the Assessment Sheets and Manual Mark Sheet are duly filled, signed, and stamped. All the candidates’ Agriculture Project write ups, Project Assessment Sheets, Manual Mark Sheets and Project Report Form for the centre should be packed and handed over to the Sub-County Director of Education at the end of the <strong>first week of August 2024.</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>24. The Sub-County Director of Education will then hand over <strong>all </strong>the documents to the Kenya National Examinations Council.</p>
