2020 KCSE AND KCPE KNEC REGISTRATION GUIDELINES: LATEST KNEC REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

The following are the latest KNEC KCSE and KCPE registration guidelines:

-2020 KCPE and KCSE candidates must be registered in schools where they have been learning. Primary school heads should, therefore, ensure that 2020 KCPE candidates are registered in schools where they have been learning in class 7.

Secondary school principals, on the other hand, must ensure that 2020 form four KCSE candidates are registered in schools where they have been learning in form three.

Secondly, school heads must shun double registration of candidates as this will be treated as an examination malpractice. According to a circular by Dr Mercy Karogo the KNEC CEO, double registration of 2020 KCPE and KCSE candidates will attract penalties since it is a crime punishable by law.

2020 KCSE and KCPE candidates should be assigned index numbers based on the school’s admission numbers as opposed to previous performance in continuous assessment tests.

Schools with 6-14 candidates will be hosted by other examination centres which the Sub County director of education deems suitable.

The hosted school will, however, retain its code during registration of candidates within a KNEC approved examination centre within the same sub-county.
