<p><strong>TSC Publishes names of Top five Applicants Only, Deviates from the Traditional Recruitment Merit List</strong></p>
<p><strong>The Teachers Service Commission, TSC has shunned the traditional merit list of teachers that should be invited to attend interviews during upcoming TSC recruitment exercises.</strong></p>
<p>According to the latest TSC Recruitment Merit lists per county at our disposal, only the top five candidates will receive a formal invitation per school to attend the TSC Recruitment interviews scheduled next week.</p>
<p>The shortlists containing top five candidates only have been dispatched to respective schools and received by school heads. The applicants&#8217; shortlist has replaced the traditional merit list owing to the fact that only a handful of the applicants will be allowed to attend the interviews.</p>
<p><strong>Number of TSC Recruitment Vacancies</strong></p>
<p>The Teachers Service Commission is set to recruit an excess of 10,000 teachers in both primary and secondary schools this month. Collection of Shortlisted applicants lists by school heads is underway. In the list seen by the author of the article, only five applicants have been shortlisted. The applicants shortlist has replaced the famous merit list.</p>

<p>The list contains the name of the applicants, telephone number and TSC number only. Important details like marks of the candidate, year of graduation and internship marks has been omitted from the list previously know as merit list. The lists seem to compromise transparency as key information on merit has been omitted.</p>

<p>In the new recruitment guidelines released by TSC, qualified teachers who have evidence of internship will stand high chances of securing TSC jobs.</p>

<p>However, the commission has reduced marks for suitable applicants who will provide evidence for internship. Previously, applicants who produced evidence for internship secured 30 marks. Surprisingly, the commission has now reduced those marks to 15.</p>

<p>It is important to note that teachers who are serving in internship programme will have a head start others. This will automatically give them an upper hand.</p>

<p>Here is how internship marks will be awarded:</p>

<p>Served for three (3) years – 15 marks</p>
<p> ;</p>
<p>Served for two (2) years – 10 marks</p>

<p>Served for (1) year -5 marks</p>

<p>MAXIMUM SCORE – 15 marks</p>

<p>Another factor that will increase chances of one to get employed is the quality of certificate. However, tutors teaching subjects combinations like Physics/Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Chemistry/Biology are easily absorbed by TSC since they are few.</p>

<p>National Council of Persons with Disability (NCPWD) Card (where applicable);</p>
