Did China Purpose to Profiteer From the Corona Global Pandemic?

Is china profiteering from the corona world pandemic?

courtesy of google

Did it create the pandemic to gain economic leverage against the world superpower- the USA?

It is a fact that the covid 19 pandemic originated from Wuhan in China. Of course the country has had its fair share of suffering from the ravages of the pandemic but it seems that the country has been able to control the scourge successfully. China appears to have already recovered. According to WION media, it is intriguing that despite the fact that Wuhan in China was the epicenter of the virus, the Chinese government was able to control the spread very effectively. It is on record that the top cities in China like Beijing for example only recorded a paltry 569 corona cases with only  8 fatalities. Similarly, Shangai another top city recorded a figure of 468 infections with 5 deaths. This was quite a feat considering the large populations in these two cities. Beijing has a population of 21.5 million while Shangai has around 24 million according to https://www.macrotrends.net>cities 2019. It should not get lost to the world that this virus has been spreading fast even to the remotest villages of the world and that even countries with sophisticated medical healthcare systems and immense wealth have been struggling to curb the spread with others like Italy recording the highest number of fatalities in thousands!

Business as usual in china-A recovered country!

courtesy of google

It has been revealed from research that the Chinese are up and about with their day-to-day activities. Businesses that had stalled are getting jam started with the government’s help. A relief package of about 344 US billion dollars has already been availed to revive the economy. Boarders have been closed but businesses are getting opened and the already existing factories are being encouraged to start manufacturing the virus-fighting supplies, pieces of equipment, gloves, masks and even ventilators. Isn’t it funny that the country that has put the rest of the world in the ICU is the same country that is now selling them the supplies to combat the pandemic?  Chinese local companies like the Dawn polymer is producing tonnes and tonnes of the fabric used in the manufacture of masks and other related virus combating equipment! This brings to the fore the book that was written in 1999 by Chinese nationals entitled Unrestricted warfare, China’s Master Plan to Destroy America. The book acknowledges the fact that China may not be able to destroy America through military prowess but they have a chance of gaining economic leverage over America with the aim of leaving the superpower behind. Could this pandemic be just creating this reality? Time will tell.

Terrorism

Citing terrorism threats, the US said that its policy on restricting travel policy is a necessary evil meant to prevent possible acts of terrorism.

The US further added that the 7 African countries are likely to be banned since they do not adequately vet their citizens before travelling to the U.S.

The other five countries include Sudan Belarus, Eritrea, Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan. Surprisingly, Chad which was banned in April 2018 was not in the list.

The new US travel rules which will be made public on Monday will also affect business and visitor visas.

The US President has also expressed his intentions to cancel the Green Card System officially referred to as the Diversity Visa Lottery Program.

He termed the Diversity Visa Lottery Program unfit since it creates room for “undesirable” people to live in the USA. He said that he prefers skilled workers.

Other African countries that are currently banned from entering the U.S. include Iran, Somalia, Lybia, Yemen, North Korea and Syria.

Politicians from Venezuela are also blocked from entering the U.S.

HEARTBREAKING NEWS FOR KENYA AS NGUGI WA THIONG’O MISSES OUT ON THE COVETED 2019 NOBEL PRIZE AWARD OF LITERATURE

Advertisements

Kenya’s hope to have one of its sons named as this year’s Nobel Prize winner has been dimmed by the grand announcement a few minutes ago.

According to Al-Jazeera, this year’s Nobel literature prizes have been won by Olga Tokarczuk and Handke Peter.

The Polish author Olga Tokarczuk and the Australian writer Peter Handke could not hold back their joy after they were announced as this year’s winners.

Advertisements

Olga Tokarczuk was announced winner of last year’s award while the 2019 award was awarded to Handke.

The winners were announced today by Mats Malm, the Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy, at a news conference in Stockholm.

Tokarczuk is 57 years old while Handke is 76.

Advertisements

Each will receive nine million kroner ($ 908, 000) and a gold medal on 10th September 2019.

The crowning ceremony will be held in Stockholm and the winners are expected to avail themselves.

GREAT IMAGINATION
The Swedish Academy hailed Tokarczuk for her “narrative imagination and encyclopedic passion that represents the crossing of boundaries as a form of life.”

Tokarczuk was born in Sulechow in Western Poland. Many consider her a literary guru in the world of international literature.

she won the Man Booker International Prize in 2018.

Her award-winning novel “Flights” brought honour to the Polish for she was the first to win the award.

According to the Academy, Tokarczuk is a gifted author who creates her novels in such a way that they depict the tension between cultural opposites, reason versus madness, home versus alienation etc.

Her novel entitled “The Books of Jacob” has received the accolade. Critics have recognized it as a masterpiece.

The novel is a historical tale based on a controversial polish author and a religious leader, Jacob Frank.

It is currently being translated into English and other languages.

CONTROVERSIAL
Handke, on the other hand, has been hailed for his ingenuity in exploring the overlooked and less important aspects of human life.

His debut play greatly offended the audience in the year 1966.

The four characters involved in the play discussed the nature of drama for an hour while praising and abusing the audience.

Handke in his novels focuses on characters in their various extreme states of mind.

His best novel is “The Goalie’s Anxiety at the Penalty Kick.”

The novel recounts the story of a former footballer who anxiously waits for his arrest after he commits murder.

Being a controversial figure, Handke’s politics threatened to render his efforts futile in the year 2006 after he publicly declared his ardent support for the former Yugoslavian President Slobodan Milosevic.

President Slobodan Milosevic died in 2006 while being tried for genocide and war crimes.

Handke declared his support during the President’s funeral and turned down the prestigious 2006 Heinrick Hein Prize that had been awarded to him.

He was born to a Slovene mother in Soviet-occupied Berlin.

LOST GLORY
At least one woman was expected to win the Nobel Prize this year if the Swedish Academy is to regain its lost glory.

This is because of the chaos that erupted within the Academy in November 2017 after allegations of sexual assault were levelled against Katarina Frosten’s husband by 18 women.

This scandal painted the 233-year-old Academy in bad light.

WORLD NEWS: SHOCK AS RATODERO’S POOR BEAR THE BLUNT OF MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE

Advertisements

Anger and agony has engulfed a small city in Pakistan after 900 children were diagnosed with HIV.

Allegations have emerged linking the incident to a paediatrician who has been reusing old syringes.

Muzaffar Ghanghro, the paediatrician has since been charged with negligence, manslaughter and causing harm due to the outbreak in the small city of Ratodero in April.

Advertisements

The paediatrician who was charging 16p per visit for Ratodero’s poorest parents worked as a GP at a government hospital.

Up to now, 1, 100 people have tested positive for the HIV but health officials fear the number could be higher since only a quarter of the entire city’s population has been tested.

FEVER THAT RESISTED TREATMENT

Advertisements

The outbreak came to light when residents of Ratodero developed fevers that were resistant to treatment.

This caused frenzied panic as they rushed to get tested.

This is when the health officials revealed that many of the children who were infected had sought medication from the same paediatrician.

A local journalist, Gulbahar Shaikh also got his children tested since they had visited the suspect and was horrified to discover that his two-year-old daughter had contracted the virus.

Another resident Jalbani Imtiaz also confessed that four out of his six children who had been treated by Mr Ghangro had HIV/ AIDS.

His 14-months-old toddler and three-year-old girl have already died.

According to the New York Times, Mr Jalbani alleges that he saw the Paediatrician rummage through rubbish for a syringe to inject his six-year-old son who also tested positive.

When he confronted the paediatrician, he claimed that he was doing so because he could not afford to buy one.

INNOCENT

The paediatrician insisted that he is innocent and never reused syringes.

Health officials have said that he might not be the only suspect since there is overwhelming evidence of many doctors reusing syringes.

NATIONAL AMPUTEE FOOTBALL TEAM TO MISS ITS FIRST INTERNATIONAL MATCH

Advertisements

IN SUMMARY:
Amputee football players from Cameroon are likely to miss out on its very first international debut match due to insufficient funds.

The amputee tournament is set to take place on September 30th to October 14th in Angola.

Kenya to take part in the National Amputee Football Tournament in Angola.

Advertisements

The Cameroon National Amputee players are a worried lot right now following the fact that they might miss out their very first international tournament over lack of funds.

According to one of the organizers, who is an amputee player and the founder of a Non- Governmental Organization “Think Big” the team has excelled following ardent support from the SEEPD program.

The Cameroonian players have since launched an appeal for financial aid from well-wishers and organizations to bail them out of this quagmire and help them pursue their dreams and achieve their goals.

Advertisements

They play for both the National Amputee Football Team and the World Amputee Football Federation.

CANAF, the fifth Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football will involve teams from the following nations: Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Liberia, Togo, Cameroon and the hosts, Angola.

AMPUTEE TEAM
Unlike a normal non-amputee team which comprises of eleven players, an amputee team is made up of seven players.

Seven amputee players compete on either side that is a goalkeeper and six other players.

NUMEROUS CHALLENGES
The Amputee Football Team for Cameroon was formed last year in March.

It is, therefore, a young team that needs back up and international participation if it has to get command the attention of the World Football Federation.

It, however, has no money to fund its flights to Angola and is thus likely to miss out a great opportunity to represent the country.

Besides, the team has no stadium or equipment. It has got only three balls.
For the team, making it to the international scene is a big deal that they will always brag about.

It is more than just a mere game for it means exercising the rights of people with disabilities.

The United Nations (UN) has promoted their rights through its sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the “leave no one behind” agenda.

The United Nations aims to ensure that people with challenges are not discriminated against.

Last year, Angola scooped the 2018 Amputee World Cup which took place in Mexico.

LEFT BEHIND
Despite the concerted efforts made by the players, many African countries struggle to fund amputee teams.

Nigeria’s team, for instance, was obliged to engage in crowdfunding last year to take part in the world cup.

The team had been shut out of the event for three years-in 2010, 2012 and 2014.

Amid all these glaring challenges, the team is still optimistic since it is still going on with its training.

THIS IS WHY AMERICAN WOMEN LONG TO MIGRATE TO KENYA

Advertisements

While most Kenyans are busy complaining and pointing fingers at their leaders for dysfunctional governments at both county and national levels, a group of thirty women are busy packing their stuff. Their destination is Kenya- Nairobi City.

Spotting a white t-shirt emblazoned with the Kenyan flag, Kea Tiffani Simmons who is among the group said she longs to settle in Kenya.

Advertisements

According to her, there cannot be a better replacement for Kenya. Even though she has lived in one of the most developed cities in the US, Nairobi is three times better than the city of North Carolina.

Ms Simmons has even selected a local name, Wakesho Akinyi.

A SEARCH FOR IDENTITY

Advertisements

Ms Simmons is the leader of a group of thirty Afro-American women who are on a five-day safari aimed at unravelling their African roots.

The visitors hail from the UK, Florida, Missouri, Virginia, Los Angeles, Vegas-Nevada, Alabama, Texas, Mississippi and Carolina. They jetted into Kenya a few days ago.

RACISM

The women were open enough to reveal the reason behind their resolution.

They said they are tired of being labelled Blacks in America.

The women have been forced to live in constant fear for their lives because of their black skin. It is as if Black lives do not matter since they always fear of being shot.

Ms Simmons also added that they are tired of being called Americans. She is the founder of World Views Organisation and has already acquired property in Juja.

NEW IDENTITY

Ms Simmons says she can’t wait to relocate to Kenya. She has even taken on a new name Akinyi which means born in the morning.

Her new name is symbolic of how good it feels to wake up in the morning and feel you are no longer discriminated against due to your race.

The mother of one is already working on her residency papers and if all goes well she plans to apply for Kenyan citizenship.

KENYAN MAGIC

Ms Simmons says she is greatly enchanted by the warmth and friendly nature of Kenyans, not forgetting the varied cultures that blend with western values.

She seems enthralled by the Maasai culture. She referred to the Maasai as the last Samurai.

The 30 women are planning to get new Kenyan names from Mijikenda elders before returning to the US.

They believe this is the closest link to their roots since it is the departure point of ships laden with African slaves more than three years ago.

Top Ten Richest Women in Africa

Africa has always been described as one of the most resource-laden continents in the world. From its vast natural resources to the immense youthful population that offers the much needed human resource for growth. It is no wonder that the white colonialists partitioned and scrambled for the continent. Even when the natives rose up in arms and resisted the imperialism and the exploitation, many colonial masters could not live with the idea that they could leave such a rich continent. This explains the reasons why the whites couldn’t leave South Africa for such a long time. It is a historical fact that South Africa gained independence very late(1994) compared to other African countries because of her vast resources, more so the gold of Joburg and the diamonds.

This is Why Coronavirus is Wreaking More Havoc Among the Black -American Communities

Advertisements

BBC has revealed disturbing news in the wake of the Coronavirus in the US. This follows the release of statistics from Chicago health officials. It is coming out that the blacks living in Chicago account for half of the entire Covid 19 cases in the city and more than 70% of deaths, despite constituting  30% of the population.

It is disturbing also that other cities with huge black populations like New Orleans, Milwaukee, Detroit and Newyork have become the new Covid 19 hotspots.

The records further reveal that a total of 370,000 Americans are infected with this virus while about 11,000 people have succumbed to the virus.

Advertisements

This is against a backdrop of 75,000 deaths and 1.3 Million infections cases globally.

Why is it that the virus is devastating to more blacks compared to others?  Could it be linked to their living conditions? Is it not disturbing that blacks account for 41% of Covid-19 fatalities, despite making up to 14% of the population in Illinois?

It is on record also that the black city residents had a lower life expectancy compared to their white counterparts. According to the Chicago public health commissioner, Dr. Allison Arwady, the blacks already lived on average about 8.8 years less than the white population.

Nationally, data has revealed that vulnerability to the infection may vary from one neighborhood to another. A case in point is the data of the infections and deaths from Michigan. Black Americans make up 14% of the entire population, however, they account for 33% of the covid 19  cases and 41% of deaths, according to the state health department.

Another case in point is data from Detroit and Michigan. It reveals that 80% of the confirmed Covid19 cases are blacks who constitute about 80% of the population here.

According to mayor Lightfoot,  respiratory diseases, heart conditions and diabetes were very common among the blacks living in this city. This was associated with food and lack of exercise due to lack of walkable streets by Dr, Awards.

Dr, Cameron Webb, a black American physician is on record telling the BBC that the racial and economic disparities were being pronounced by the pandemic. He said that “ it exposes our society’s fault lines”

In the Wake of Corona Virus:How Many Ventilators do African Countries Have To Rescue Lives of The Corona Critically Ill?

Advertisements
A ventilator machine-crucial in saving lives of the Covid19 critically ill

The Covid 19 disease caused by the Coronavirus has hit the world by storm. What started in Wuhan China as a normal Respiratory disease has spread throughout the world causing fear, panic and lots of deaths. This spread has brought the world to a standstill! In the wake of this highly infectious disease so many terms have become very common as the world health experts and governments try to mitigate this scourge. One of the most mentioned equipment in trying to alleviate the effects of the pandemic is the ventilator.

Advertisements

 What is a ventilator?

In very simple terms a ventilator is a machine that takes over a human’s breathing process when a disease cripples the lungs making them not function as designed. Therefore, the ventilator assumes the role of the lungs thus giving the body time to battle off the infection and recover.

How do ventilators work?

Advertisements
courtesy

Why are ventilators key in the fight against coronavirus?

As much as some 80% of people with the virus (Corona) recover without needing medical-hospital- treatment, one out of every six patients becomes critically ill developing difficulties in breathing( According to WHO)

In such severe cases, the lungs get damaged by the virus prompting the body’s immune system to expand the blood vessels, increasing the entry of the immune cells. This poses a great danger of the fluid getting into the lungs making the patient’s breathing difficult. When the breathing is hampered, oxygen levels drop. This is when the ventilator comes in handy to push air with high oxygen concentration into the lungs. To ensure that the air getting pushed into the patient’s lungs is of the same body temperature as that of the patient’s, the ventilator has a humidifier that heats and moisturizes the medical air. So in essence, the ventilator regulates the breathing of the patients until they recover.

Availability and cost of ventilators.

Unfortunately, these ventilators are not readily available in the wake of this virus. For instance, according to Aljazeera.com, in the United States, which has tested and confirmed the most cases in the globe, the Society of Critical Care Medicine has projected that 960,000 Coronavirus patients may be put on ventilators as they go through the treatment process. However, the US has approximately 200,000 ventilators some of which are old fashioned and thus may not be so helpful to the critically ill. The situation may be worse in nations with weak health care systems. A case in point is an African nation- Mali- that has only 56 machines against a population of 19 million!

It becomes clear that one of the biggest bottlenecks facing the medical caregivers around the globe amid the Covid 19 pandemic is attempting to save lives that require critical care on a background of limited medical infrastructure. It is from this point of reference that the globe’s biggest manufacturer of ventilators, the Swiss-based Hamilton Medical AG, purposes to increase production numbers to 21,000 this year, up from 15,000 in 2019.

What does the future hold for the so-called developing countries if this covid19 continues to spread?
