    Teachers who have been thirstily eyeing the lucrative TSC recruitment slots can, at last, breathe a sigh of relief. This follows the latest TSC recruitment breaking news today indicating that the Teachers Service Commission will employ 5000 fresh recruits to address teaching gaps occasioned by the influx of learners in both primary and especially secondary schools in line with the 100 percent transition policy.

    In the same breath, TSC also re-advertised 386 teacher posts (114 for primary schools and 272 for secondary schools) on contractual terms to fill vacancies in Garissa, Wajir, and Mandera counties.

    “To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should be a Kenyan citizen, be hailing from Garissa, Mandera or Wajir Counties, be teaching under Board of Management in Garissa, Mandera or Wajir Counties,” read part of the notice.

    The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has advertised 5,000 teaching vacancies to support the government policy on 100 percent transition of learners from primary to secondary schools and to address the existing teacher shortage.

    The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.

    Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Teachers Service Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under ‘ Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than 7th July 2022.

    A. SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS (3,972 POSTS).

    To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

    i) Be a Kenyan citizen;

    1. Must be a holder of at least a diploma in education;
    • Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service

    TEACHER TRAINING COLLEGES (28 POSTS).

    To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

    i) Be a Kenyan citizen;

    1. Must be a holder of at least a bachelor’s degree in Education;
    • Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service

    PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS (1,000 POSTS)

    To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

    1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

    2. Must be a holder of a PI certificate;

    3. Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    Please note that:

    1. The Teachers Service Commission Recruitment Guidelines 2022/2023 Financial Year

    (available in the Teachers Service Commission’s website: www.tsc.go.ke) shall apply.

    1. The list of shortlisted candidates, interview dates, and venues will be published on the Teachers Service Commission’s website by 15th July 2022.
    • Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates.
    1. Successful candidates must not fill more than one Application for Employment Form. Filling out two or more Application for Employment Forms will lead to

    3. Successful candidates will be posted to serve in any part of the country and not necessarily in the county or school where they were

    vii) Merit lists generated during this recruitment for both primary and post primary institutions will be used in subsequent recruitment processes within the financial year.

    8,230 replacement vacancies

    The Teachers Service Commission is also declaring 8,230 vacancies to replace teachers who exited service through natural attrition i.e. 6,539 posts for primary schools and 1,691 posts for secondary schools.

    The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.
