Top 200 Schools in KCSE 2024 Results 

With Moi  High School Kabarak emerged among the country’s top schools in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). This is after getting a mean score of 10.4 which is a B+ (plus).

List of Top Performing Schools in 2023 KCSE

In terms of mean score in the results released on Monday, January 8, Mudasa Academy in Vihiga County emerged among the top schools in the Western region after registering a 8.9 mean grade.

Rift Valley giants Kapsabet High School also emerged on the charts of top schools with a mean score of 9.5 while the Light Academy in Mombasa registered a 10.2 mean score as well.

Kisima School impresses in 2023 KCSE

In addition, Kisima Mixed School, which offers a chance for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to transform their lives, also made it to the list of top performers after registering an impressive 9.8 (B+) mean score.

Located in  Nyandarua County, the school sponsors boys and girls from poor backgrounds, especially children from the pastoralist communities in Kenya.

Over the years, Kisima Secondary has registered impressive results often hitting the 9 mark in the national exams.

According to a computation by the school, the school registered two As, eight A minus (A-), and 11 B’s, five B minus (B-)s.

All 25 candidates who had registered for the KCSE at the center scored above B- making the school among the few which registered a 100% transition to university.

In addition, Nyanza giants Maranda High is back among the list of top performers, this time registering a mean score of 9.578 (B+).

The school had 53 As in the exam, making it among the few with over 50 As countrywide.

Elsewhere in Trans Nzoia County, little-known Segero School registered a sterling performance which saw all 50 candidates who were registered in the center meet the minimum entry grade for university educatiion.


The school, located in Saboti, Trans Nzoia County, recorded 6 A-, 34 B+, 9 B and 1 B-.

The results were released on Monday, January 8, to end the wait from candidates who sat the 2023 exam.

Overall results

Overall, there were 1,216 As, 7,254 A-, and 18,078 B+ grades. However, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu expressed his concerns after some 48,174 candidates scored Es.
