School calendar to normalize starting February 2023; Here Below are the new 2022/2023 school term dates and School Calendar afor primary and secondary schools
All primary and secondary schools will revert back to the normal school calendar starting January 2023 to December with a year having three terms instead of four. This is good news especially for parents and guardians who have been obliged to bear the burden of extra school fees for an extra term for two years 2021-2022.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha during the release of the 2021 KCPE results in 2022 gave an assurance that despite leaving office in Auigust this year, the education calendar in both primary and secondary schools will revert to running from January to December in 2023.
Prof Magoha made the statement on Monday when the Ministry of Education released the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.
He also urged school heads not to hoarde KCPE examinations results for needy students who cannot raise money to clear fee arrears since primary education is free in Kenya.
“There is no point of denying the candidates their examination results because of fees balances because in any cause it is known that primary school education is free in the country,” he said.
He further assured candidates that all KCPE examination result slips will be released to all candidates who sat for the exams, even if they have fee balances.

2021 SCHOOL TERM DATES FOR ALL LEARNERS
Important Term Dates in the new 2022-2023 School Calendar
Term One 2022 will commence on April 26, 2022 and run for 10 weeks till July 1, 2022.
The 2021 KCSE national exams will come to a closure on April 1, 2022.
The 2021/2022 KCSE Marking will take a maximum of 18 days with the 2022 KCSE examiners contracted by the council expected to leave the marking centres by April 22, 2022.
