CBC ROLL-OUT IN GRADE FOUR LATEST UPDATES<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>The Ministry of Education is all set for the Grade 4 CBC curriculum roll-out this year&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>According to the CS Education&comma; Professor George Magoha&comma; the government has already distributed all CBC Grade four textbooks and other KICD approved CBC curriculum support materials to all Kenyan schools in readiness for the roll-out of the new curriculum&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>KICD had in 2019 published a full list of approved Grade 4 textbooks and other curriculum support materials on its official website provided below<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;kicd&period;ac&period;ke&sol;">https&colon;&sol;&sol;kicd&period;ac&period;ke&sol;<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong> TEACHER TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>The Government has raised the minimum teacher training qualifications from Certificate &lpar;P1&rpar; to Diploma Level in 2020&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>The curriculum for this new level has already been designed and it will be implemented in 2020&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>TVET INSTITUTIONS AND BURSARIES<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>The government has upgraded 70 technical and vocational education training institutions across the country to facilitate a smooth transition of KCSE candidates into tertiary education institutions&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Besides&comma; the Government will provide a bursary of Kshs 30&comma; 000 for each TVET student as from 2020&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>2019 KCSE candidates who qualified for TVET institutions are therefore urged to apply for government funding&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>EDUCATIONAL REFORMS BY CS MAGOHA IN KENYAN UNIVERSITIES<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>CS Education Professor George Magoha has also launched educational reforms aimed at wiping out at least 200 courses that are not marketable among Kenyan Universities&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>KCSE 2018 candidates failed to apply for these unpopular courses&period;<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>According to KUCCPS official figures&comma; 98 programmes offered by at least 40 universities failed to get any placement&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Kisii University was the worst hit with 12 unpopular courses followed by Karatina&comma; University of Embu and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology with five courses each&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Some of these unpopular courses include&colon;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>Bachelor of Business A administration<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>Bachelor of Science &lpar;Aquatic Resource Conservation and Development with IT&rpar;<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>Bachelor of Science &lpar;Environmental Science and Resource Management&rpar;<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>Bachelor of Theology<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Ventilation and Air Conditioning<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>Bachelor of Science in Bio-Chemistry<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>Bachelor of Science Agribusiness<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>Bachelor of Science Horticulture<&sol;strong><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong>Bachelor of Science Environmental Science<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Following the snubbing of these courses by KCSE 2018 candidates&comma; Professor George Magoha warned university Vice-Chancellors against introducing new courses that are irrelevant to the current economy&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Professor Magoha also directed universities to review some of these courses&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;
