The Government through the Ministry of Education has extended the official Term 2 2020 opening dates by one month for all schools in Kenya.
This means that learners will have their April Holiday extended by four weeks. Speaking during the briefing session on the coronavirus pandemic on Sunday, CS Education professor Magoha said that all schools will re-open on June 4, 2020.
According to the official 2020 term dates released earlier by the Ministry of Education, learners in primary and secondary schools in Kenya were to resume studies on May 2, 2020.
Safety
Responding to the numerous complaints arising from various quarters especially parents who feel that schools should not re-open soon since some of them are currently being used as coronavirus isolation centers, CS Magoha assured Kenyans about the safety of learners before schools re-open.
