Coronavirus now in Kenya: Government Bans All Public Gatherings After a Woman Tests Positive

At last, the Ministry of Health in Kenya has confirmed the first case of Coronavirus.

According to CS Health Mutahi Kagwe, the patient, a woman tested positive on Thursday March 13, 2020 and has since been quarantined at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

He further reassured the public that Kenya is still safe so long as they observe the guidelines provided by the MOH on how to contain the Covid 19 Virus.

The woman had flown in from Ohio, via London.

The Government is therefore trying to trace the people that she came into contact with to contain the spread of the virus in Kenya.

No public gatherings

The Kenyan Government has since banned all public meetings including the famous religious jamborees dubbed crusades to reduce the risk of contracting Coronavirus.

Inter school competitions have also been banned following the confirmation of Coronavirus on Kenyan soil.

Cs Mutahi Kagwe has however told Kenyans to remain calm and continue observing basic hygiene standards.

He said there is no need for alarm since this is just one case which has been confirmed.

Besides, the patient is in stable condition and is currently receiving the necessary medical attention.

Kenyans have also been advised to look out for people exhibiting Coronavirus signs and symptoms.

What is the source of Coronavirus?

Coronavirus originates from animals to human. It is believed to have originated from a snake, at the South China Seafood Wholesale Market.

Most of the victims die from Coronavirus especially if their immune system is weak.

Most Coronavirus victims die from pneumonia-related complications and swelling in the lungs.

Coronavirus also causes swelling in the respiratory system making it hard to breathe lungs cannot pass oxygen into the bloodstream.

This leads to organ failure and death.

Severe pneumonia can kill a person by drowning them in the fluid flooding their lungs.
