Therefore, in the spirit of “Ubuntu” that is “I am because you are” the rest of the student fraternity went on rampage to protest against the “unfair arrest” of their comrades.
Efforts to contain the rowdy mob hit the rock since the learners remained unruly obliging the school administration to shut down the school.
All students were consequently directed to go home and await further directions from the school administration.
The decision is aimed at preventing possible cases of arson.
The 11 boys who were arrested are still in custody, helping with further investigations.
DAMAGE OF SCHOOL PROPERTY
According to a security guard, the boys damaged property worth thousands of shillings.
They damaged school furniture and smashed windows before the police could interpose.
STRANDED STUDENTS
After being ordered to vacate the school, most boys seemed undecided on the next step to take.
Some were forced to trek for several kilometres to Nakuru town.
A form one boy who hails from Kericho County confessed that he had tried to reach his father to request for bus fare in vain.
He further added that he has no relative around Njoro who can host him.
Another form three student accused his senior colleagues in form four for organizing and forcing them to take part in the strike.
The school principal avoided addressing the press.
